So last week, my truck was in the shop for a day getting various things attended to, and I ended up running a spare for a night. 2004 Fleightshaker Classic daycab. It's not a bad truck, just a bit tired.
I set sail in the thing around 7pm that night, to discover the radio don't work. I guess I'm listening to the wind noise coming through the door jamb for music. Oh well.
Around midnight, I stopped for a coffee. And for some reason I wanted french vanilla cappuccino. So I get one, 16oz. I head out to the truck and put it in the half cupholder right beside my right knee, and proceed down the road. I go about two miles, hit a pothole, and the #### cup bounces out of the half cup holder, spins around, falls on the floor, spilling hot french vanilla cappuccino all over me and the floor. I pull over in an attempt to clean the mess up, and I open the door and watch the now sticky mess ooze out on to the step. Took an old rag and wiped the floor a bit, and proceeded down the road in a sticky mess. Makes me wonder what they were thinking when they decided a half cup holder was a good idea.....
Later on, I loaded at a cement mill, a very dusty place that should be shut down and never allowed to operate again. The only good thing about the place is the truck wash they have after you get loaded. Even though it sprays rusty water, it serves it's purpose. So, I proceed to go through said wash, only to be rewarded by a face full of water. Apparently having the windows cracked open while being sprayed by water wasn't too smart. Who knew? I guess the good news is the water that hit the floor washed the gooey mess from the earlier cappuccino spill.
And the wife wonders why I drink sometimes at 8am.....
Things that make me shake my head

I love days like that. It’s so freeing knowing your whole day is kinda a dumpster fire.

I recall a botched load, arrived at the plant with a bulk tanker and the heavens opened. The good news is any leaks are sealed instantly. The bad news was that 60 foot hose plugged after the silo pipe plugged. Im standing in a food of water trying to beat the stuff out of the silo then shake the hoses loose only to find the water going into them to turn that powder into cement.
The yelling started. From about 20 people taking refuge staying dry inside the control trailer watching me get wet and stay wet.
That was the first set of yelling, then my company yelled.
Should Moses want a concrete bridge poured over the sea he probably will call me to go do it because I am too stupid not to go.
I think they replaced the hose with three new ones eventually. The good news was I was never again dispatched to that plant.otterinthewater Thanks this. -
Don't take this wrong, but it makes me shake my head that a driver would put a to go coffee cup in his truck at all, when it should be required equipment to have your own no-spill cup.
The truck spilled that french vanilla stuff on purpose, thinking real drivers should be drinking the real thing. lol -
I have the required no-spill cup, and I normally drink the real thing, as black as possible. Just wanted something different. I guess that's what I get for trying something different lol
