Thats not all that's annoying in modern trucks. I remember one truck having a annoying in your face triangle on the dash for the 4 ways when a trainer was making a mountain video it was so distracting. If it was me it would be a big fat can of flat charcoal and a spritz. Whoops made a mess. So bad. Oh well. (They can always ticket me or fire me but that's how I deal with it.) I have spent too much time in old iron when nothing at times worked at all. I remember one time ATS for a holiday turned off everything electronic to where i used a stop watch against yardsticks to pay a visit to a friend on my own PC time 110 miles away one way once in Indiana. Nothing in that truck worked except the mechanical engine. So... the trip was not a problem. The fuel I paid for in cold cash. So that takes care of that one time.

The less lighting the better it is. Some nights with a full moon I turn everything down low. Unless something went out of normal spec it really doesnt have a problem of cutting into the eye vision late at night. I can imagine some engineer programming a restriction where you cannot turn anything down in the cab at night I can see that happening at some point. But until then I'll do what I have to do.

Age is the other problem with eyes. Mine are pretty good especially after the new lenses were put in, however as you age, they cannot handle certain light problems as they used to. So the new tinting against LED and light pollution etc is a nice welcome evolution.

On computers I use a program called F.Lux which you download and install. Once on it eliminates bad lighting from your screen according to time of day. You will find yourself not so awake late at night because the computer takes away certain colors that erases your normal body clock and keeps you up at night. One video game is excessively bad on that so the program cuts it down. You can put it on your smart phone as well. It does not cost anything and works according to local sunrise to the minute wherever you are on the planet.

I read here on TTR about a driver that ended up putting a towel over the ELD because the brightness couldn't be turned down. So in a way, thats already here with some trucks.

You mean the blue light filter? Ive noticed that Android smartphones come with that installed from the factory. Ive got mine set up to turn on at 6 PM and off at 7 AM.

Not so much for my laptop though, there isnt even a brightness setting on windows 7; so I will definitely be installing that program on the laptop.

Windows do not possess a brightness.

The closest you can get to it with bright is your power settings. I keep mine where it will pull full power to drive everything all the time. No sleeping, no suspension, no shutting down spinner drives or any of that eco crap. I want my electricity and I want it now. Im running like three or four video cards. Thats usually enough to heat my home this winter. Outside it's storm conditons and a freezing 37 degrees and falling, however the computer is essentially a 1500 watt space heater. So when it heats too much in gaming, I open a window. (I run two large radiators on my machine with 6 fans on top and bottom of each one. One is off the CPU cooling and the other is cooling the chill water tank as a backup. The next computer will be all liquid. hardly a fan anywhere. Humdity will be something I will need to buy a dehumidifying machine for. Always more electricity.

Another sign of brightness is when its starting to fade over months that means your monitor is dying. I have a 9 year old BenQ gaming monitor that is greying out slowly. Sometime by Spring I am going to replace it with a one hell of a monitor into 4K and about 40 inches at 144 hertz. But until then, I'll nurse things along with this old monitor.

Laptops are also part of the planning for spring as well. Strictly as spares to stay online while reimaging or otherwise rebuilding a failed Raid 5 array or replacing burned out video cards etc. I already replaced one last month. When the others burn out Im going to either buy a 1080 card pair or one 1660 I hear about. And stop worrying about it for 10 years. The ones I have now have gone 12 years already. And running 391 nvidia drivers too. I cannot get into the 440's just yet. I need to replace the video cards before going that up.

Because its necessary for curbs that the city painted the wrong color, then you paint itred in the morning so it will be available to you when you come back

In Windows 10 Enterprise I can right-click anywhere on my desktop and see a menu option to adjust brightness. This adjustment is through windows and it affects the Computer graphics card driver. In Windows 7 press the Windows key and the letter X. This will take you to the proper place to adjust this. I don't have Windows 8 anymore, but I think this is Windows key and I

On my win 7 laptop, I have 6 things to show up. One to the left of the sound slider. Your graphics card may have another way.
