Bovine excrement! I spoke with a guy that I went to C1 with last year that still drives for USA Truck. His FM asks him how many days he needs at home after a multiweek trip. He told me he still stays home anywhere from 3 to 4 days just as he did before the change over. This is between the driver and their FM depending on how the freight is moving.

As for as Florida goes. As a USA Truck driver that happens to live in Florida you know full dang well USA does very little business there. I am not even sure if Florida is part of the USA Truck hiring area.

    Per USA....

"Our policy has changed regarding your hometime."

This IS what they are telling new hires (from Florida) as recent as 3 weeks ago. NOT in orientation. But AFTER they get on the truck.

So if this IS NOT their policy. Maybe management needs to crawl up a lying ### dispatchers ###.

As for hiring out of Florida. I know it to be flexible. I know 2 drivers from Florida. One was hired straight from his home address. The other had to use a family members address in another state to get hired.

I guess it just depends on where the recruiter thinks "Florida" is on the map.

I don't care what USA Truck's published hometime policy is. For the most part the 2 day weekend stuff is for the dedicated drivers that are home most weekends. The OTR drivers get longer if it's asked for. As I said this is between the driver and their FM. When I worked there after the switchover when I came on duty my FM asked me when I wanted hometime and when I did go home he asked me when he could expect me back. For me this was never much more then 48 to 72 hours simply because I could not afford to sit home, but I could have if I had wanted to.

Look, USA Truck has a host of problems and these problems are mostly management related. For the most part operations tries to make the drivers happy. They generally do a fair job of this. Blanket statements like the one you made simply is not 100% true, and it don't apply to the OTR drivers.

Pump sunshine up somebody else's ###. Both drivers I described are OTR.

The statement IS a blanket statement sent via QC to said driver.

I was OTR, and before I left USA my FM was a PITA about hometime. I spent quite a while (before getting home) the first time I went home after they changed the policy. After that first time they wouldn't let me go home for more then saturday and sunday. I went home one other time, then dropped the truck off at a terminal, emptied it out, left keys in truck, took vacation, never looked back. (sorry.. repeat that story way to much on here lol).

Not pumping anything. The published hometime policy is not set in iron. It's a matter between the driver and their FM. I was OTR while there and I was never told I could only stay home for 2 days. Yes, as was just posted if you have a horsesbutt for a FM you might have a problem. I did not and I had no problem. It's just dependent on the FM and how the freight is moving. Is USA Truck a company I recommend other drivers to sign on with? HELL NO, but this is not because of their stupid hometime policy, its because of the incompetent management behind the policy.

Exrayman4000--I don't even know if my friend or her husband knows about this forum. What I said was just what he told me. He had a bad experience but it doesn't mean everyone will. It was all about the log books and hours driving. I don't know anymore then that. I do see your point. My husband's first week with his trainer at Maverick he got to drive 2860 miles and didn't have a problem. When I talk to my friend I'll tell him about this site.
