They brought in a consultant last time. Do you ever wonder about people who ask for assistance , then stonewall them. Those people in Van Buren won't listen to anyone. They might request help. But they have one track minds.

One fewer business day! This has got to be the biggest boneheaded statement ever in a quarterly report. How this moronic idiot still has a job is beyond me. I guess in the next quarter he will blame somebody in operations for being late for work. You people that drive for USA Truck deserve better then this! Keep on trucking, make your pickup and delivery appointments hopefully this situation will get fixed soon. I'm pulling for each and every one of you!

That one business day might have equated to 2 to 3 mil in revenue in a hypothetical world but probably would not have made any difference beyond the top line number. Cliff will never come right out and admit he is the cancer of this company.

That one less business day remark in the quarterly actually dumbfounded me all last night and into this morning. Something about it did not ring right. Then this morning while driving through West Virginia I finally figured it out. When a business is losing money like USA Truck is one less business day compared to the same quarter in a previous year will actually help make the numbers look better. Think about it! If you are losing money one less day of losing money actually is one less days loss you don't have. This remark and the math behind it in my opinion proves these people in upper management are out of touch and I actually think they think they will save the company. I also thought about David Hartline too. People have been really putting a lot of the blame on him for all of this, but take a look at my sig line, Cliff Beckham was screwing this company over way before Hartline came in. Pathetic is the only word I can think of to describe this situation.

As a former fleet manager for USAK I can assure you that this company is not worth sticking around. Hell, at this point they are asking every single driver to become a trainer in hopes that they will not quit the company. I would suggest to guys that are doing the paid CDL program to stick out the year (unless you have some written agreement with some other company that will pick up the student debt) And then find a company that will give you the consistent miles/respect that you desire.jtannillo Thanks this.

David Hartline's idea of booking freight to quota was awful. It was hard for be to meet my truck utilization for the week (2,500) when the planners are giving me a load that only goes 135 miles and cannot deliver until the next day. I had many drivers that struggled money wise and sometimes even had negative paychecks.

Thats true. If you are spending 1.50 for every 1.00 you make then you actually lose less the less you make. The one less business day was just another lame excuse. Ok so just for the fun of it I went back and looked at the calendar. Unless I am not reading something right we actually had the same number of business days this year as we did last year. July 4th was on tuesday of last year and wednesday this year. Check it out and verify either way. Im counting 64 business days in 2011 and 2012.

I assume you mean owner ops. I can imagine and feel so bad for the O/O for USA. I thought about becoming one when I drove for them but the numbers never could sale me.

In trucking you don't choose your customers they choose you. Customers aren't going to pay USA more because USA needs to make money. Everyone is in business to make money and spend as little money to do so as possible. If vendors treated USA as a customer the same way USA treats its customers no one would want USA as a customer.

Thats what I tell everyone. Give them the year to fullfill you obligation than get out.
