The TANKER DID cross against a motorcyclist who had every right to be there. Motorcyclist changed lanes to evade Trooper now had a decision to make.

Yes I say the lane maintain ticket is a valid one.

Go back and watch the video in slow motion, use the pause button if you have to, you can clearly see the tanker had already signaled and started into the center lane BEFORE the Trooper forced the motorcyclists into that lane by coming up on them too fast. I would like to see the 15 seconds or so prior to the incident, as the clip the Connecticut State Police so conveniently released makes it look like the tankers fault unless you really look at it closely. The trucker nor the bikers did anything wrong, that crash lays solely on the Trooper for driving at a high rate of speed when traffic was dense.

You have to watch the first 3 seconds of video very slowly, almost frame by frame to see it, but it is there.

IMO and that's all it is, the Trooper was over driving the conditions. In other words speeding and still should of been able to slow for the bike regardless of what was happening in front of him. Another abuse of power.

What's difficult to see is if the tanker was forced into a quick lane change from an event to his right.

Aside from that, I estimate the trooper was running 15 or 20 over the speed of the truck.

    My 2c.

    You guys nailed it.
Civilian traffic will do 60 thru a 45 work zone. The fuzz will do 70.

Have I ever mentioned my luuuuuuuve for Connecticut? Hah.

Was told if two vehicles were going for the same lane at the same time , the vehicle in front would have the right of way. As the vehicle in the rear should be able to see the first vehicles actions, instead of relying on seeing the second's actions. Only person I saw acting a fool was the trooper.

Back in the day, when the 55 MPH NATIONAL speed limit was in effect, I saw many a highway patrolman do unspeakable things to bust someone going 65 or 70 MPH, just to pad thier coffers.

Once almost got the front end of my car clipped by an HP patrol-car swerving over FIVE lanes of traffic, simply so he could give some car going 65-70 MPH in the far left lane a speeding citation.

The idiot officer could have easily caused an accident, causing death, at a major intersection of routes, by the stunt he pulled to make a 10 mph over speed bust. Most cops drive way too fast.

& that's what they don't get. You can spot a cop by his driving habits far before he gets to you.

Bike merged into the truck's blind spot, due to negligent cop's speed. Truck was already in the process of changing lanes, dumb cop overcorrected and proved he really can't drive at that sort of speed, caused many thousands in damage to truck, and is now trying to save face. Except the tape shows it was his fault.
