I make no judgement, just stating my opinion. And anyone that doesn't remember a run in with the law, however insignificant, is full of ####, or was under some mind altering chemical at the occasion.

I took it to be your judgment that his "greatest crime may be being full of ####." Perhaps I misread what you wrote. And now you assert that the only way someone could possibly not have perfect recall of a brief, stressful, encounter several years ago is intoxication. That seems to be a judgment, as well. I think you are making judgments without considering that your experiences are not everyone's and your talents are not everyone's either.

He never said he did not remember it. He says he does not remember the specific details of it years later.

More than a few times I have spoken with people who had shortly before (I'm talking days to weeks here) gotten tickets and they couldn't tell me whether it was a trooper, a deputy or a village officer that gave them the ticket. Gray, black or blue uniform? Blue, white or black car? No recollection. All they remembered is that they got a ticket for x and they knew they had to come to court.

Most people are a bit overwhelmed when they have their day abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of a police officer accusing them of a violation of law. They are not taking notes and they generally don't know a whole lot about how it all works. Their recollections, especially over time, generally are not highly detailed and thorough in my experience.

Is it possible, do you think, that your perfect recall was because after the first stop you had you were not rattled by the event and could use more of your mental resources to process the incidents and recall more of the details? That is the basis for stress inoculation training, after all.

The more of the environment that has been normalized through experience the more mental resources can be used for processing higher level information. Just a thought.

First time ever was in Florida I was 15. My older cousin took me with him to score a pound of pot. Were back off the road at least a mile into a huge swamp, at night. He's making the deal with the guy, and I see these blue lights all shining off the trees.

Along comes a Florida State Trooper in the old Mopars, probably a Polara, with the big bubble gum light on top going around.

I'm thinking to myself, I'm 15, I'm going to prison as a felon, and my Dad is going to absolutely whoop my ###.

We are caught red handed. He walks up, takes the bag of pot, feels it, sniffs it, hands it back to my cousin, and says " You boys keep that #### off my highway." " You boys got an weapons?" We said no, and he looked through the cars.

So then he gets in his car, turns the bubble gum light off, and drives away.

My cousin didn't want the pot, cause he thought he would nab us on the road when we left. SO that got a little ugly, but nothing happened.

Most recently as a grown adult, I was let off for speeding, 55 in a 40, that officer wanted drunk drivers
not me. Told me lets slow it down. Yes sir, not a probable.

Time before that I ran through a red light sitting at an intersection with the officer right behind me. When he stopped me, he says, " Didn't you see me behind you?"
I said," Yes, but I didn't realize you were a police officer, I haven't lost my mind."
So he runs my license, comes back, asks how much do I make a week driving a cab, as I was driving my cab when this happened. Told him only about $500 week in the summer for a long, long week.
He hands me back my license, says, " You got a clean record, so I'm gonna cut you a break. But I don't care if its 3:00 in the morning or not, no more running red lights, we clear? "
    Absolutely sir.

Now when I go to church. I say these words in front of hundreds of people-- " I have sinned, through my own fault, words, and deeds. In what I have done, and what I have failed to do."

That's called accountability ace. That makes for character.

Private companies aren't courts of law. They can dismiss you because of how you comb your hair. And your boy is obviously distressed by a post on the internet from someone he doesn't know from Adam. So in my opinion, he probably a little thinned skinned to be a driver anyway.

The truth is the armor of God, everyone should try it.

    So t

    Dave,

I appreciate your reminiscences. I have a few, too. I'm sure our forgetful turtle liker does as well.

And, you are correct, he got riled up pretty easily when you went after him. But you did impugn his integrity. I've seen that kind of thing turn violent. I've even heard of it happening among drivers.

I don't know @TurtlesLikeI from Adam and I can't say whether he is a candidate for Sainthood or for Trusty of the Month at Sing Sing. I can just go by what he wrote here, the same as you.

But, you seem to be convinced that if someone does not remember the details of something to the level of your ability and experience that they must be lying.

I have had different experiences and they have led me to a more charitable view of the foibles and frailties of humanity. I try not to judge others using my circumstance as a measuring device.

We're each just trying to make it through this life the best we are able and I will leave it at that.

I don't care where you leave it. I didn't ask for your opinion. In my opinion he's a fraud.

Not sure why they'd want the location of the citation? Whether its in California or just around the corner i think it was just their excuse to not approve your application.

To be honest, I don't understand this whole thread. He got a ticket 3 years ago, for 15 over. He doesn't remember the exact day or place. The question doesn't seem to be will he get hired there, it seems the question is will he be in trouble if he puts the wrong day or place? If that's not it, what does it matter that he can't find the exact info?

The prospective company is asking for the details of the citation, the OP knows it was in Texas. Just my 2 cents, but since it was so far over, they probably want to know why he was going so fast, in a CMV that would be reckless. If I were the employer and had to explain it to my insurer, could not since the OP doesn't remember any details, I probably won't be able to hire him as the insurance company will say no, and as a prospective employer I wonder if he takes driving seriously.

I didn't go to orientation. My cousin was a DM for them and that's why I wanted to go. Glad I didn't. Werner treated me better than any rookie could've hoped to be treated.
