I was backed up to a dock a few years ago next to an owner op who pulled intermodal out of Stockton CA. At the time I had 2 tickets so he said don't even bother to apply. Forgot about it til now, will have to look into it, you experience with JBH sounds really good.
Thought I would do a thread on my on going jb hunt experience

Everything still going great with jb. I have a ever-growing hatred for the account I am on though

You unloading mattresses? I saw those DCS guys really earning their keep when I ran city.
Md420 Thanks this. -
No. I am unloading family dollar trailers. 2600 to 2900 boxes hand unloaded on rollers every day. I would do matresses any day over this

Ok. Today was the first truely warm day as far as the weather that I have had to unload(90+ all day). It was gruelling but like I said I am not opposed to a hard days work. Started my day at 0600 and got done at 4:15. Made $315, averaged out to $25.74 an hour.

Oh also. Where it was so warm I slowed down and took a couple 5/7 minute breaks on my 2nd stop plus I was just moving slower because of the heat. Made me a little late for my 3rd stop so I text my dm to give a heads up and a reason
Got told to take my time and to just get to my deliveries when I get there, that she didn't care how family dollar or the store employees/managers felt about it as long as I wasn't over doing it.horsecrazychic22 Thanks this. -
Only problem I have heard from their drivers is if they loose the account you're on, you go OTR.
I doubt that would happen with intermodal. Most of their disgruntled drivers seem to be the OTR guys and gals.horsecrazychic22 Thanks this. -
I have only talked to 2 otr guys that were not lease purchase drivers and they were content. Said they were in the 2200 to 2500 range every week. Said they were home every week to week and a half. I cant speak on otr though as I have never been in that division.

Made $409 yesterday in just under 11 hours. A little over $37 an hour but the heat is slowing me down in a big way. If it were cooler out I probably would have got done in 8 hours and the way the trailer was loaded was a joke. Had merchandise from the last stop in front of my 4 other stops plus it lookes to me thrown on the trailer vs stacked.
Headed back to the dc for my friday run, hoping I can get one or two of my deliveries off today which would have me only having 3 or 4 on friday. Dc is in Morehead Ky(i64 exit 133) first stop in grundy va, work down us 19 then up i81 a little.
I have done this run the last 2 Fridays and I like it, its about a $400 run and the stops are quick and get me done quickDark_Majesty_06 and horsecrazychic22 Thank this.
