But keep in mind, it's not always the drivers fault. It's a jungle out on the roads today. Be safe out there.

I do not want to defend SWIFT BUT, article says Swift have 21 000 drivers, now who have more chanses to involved into accident Swift or Mom&Pop company who have 50 drivers?
So yeah by % 650 accidents in 2 years on 21 000 drivers not that bad actualyAndy7317, misterG, tech10171968 and 2 others Thank this. -
Good argument to take to court for the fanatics that want to govern trucks to 65.
All their arguments for safety apparently go down the drain with swift.KB3MMX, tech10171968, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -
WDTN is being very kind to Swift.
They say Swift drivers have been involved in more than 650 crashes in the last two years. More than 2300 in that time involving a tow, injuries and/or fatalities.
The 650 they used is for crashes with injuries but no fatalities.

Noooo, once again the media misrepresents the truth. The braindead general public will read "SWIFT" and "SPEED WAS A FACTOR", and will instantly think that ol Theodore was rocketing down the road like a bat out of hell.KB3MMX, misterG, Naptown and 1 other person Thank this.

But just like the majority of crashes that happen, it couldve been avoided. Being a former Swift driver, the whole get your CDL in four weeks annoys me. I EARNED my CDL in eights technically nine weeks. Sure it was longer but I can say that I learned more doing a nine week course than a four week course.KB3MMX and Shock Therapy Thank this.

At least he only killed himself

Also says they have roughly 40,000 inspections with about 31% being in violation of something! that is not a good %.
But yes 650 out of 21,000 is not a bad percentage. Be safe out there. -
Be interesting to know to what the causes were behind the accidents, possibly just wrong place wrong time for some? May find a little more on Unsolved Mysteries about it?
Be safe out there.
rank Thanks this.
