Last summer Volvo introduced the new VNL series truck, complete redesign, personally I think it's the coolest thing on the road, I'm curious others thoughts on it. Month or so back, Volvo brought us a VNL daycab to climb all over, the general consensus was it was a beautiful truck, we all loved the design, but there was almost no storage in the cab. This past week, they brought VNL 440 for us to look at, the exact opposite of the day cab, tons of storage and it wasn't fully spec'd out. The downside, the fit/finish of the interior apparently happened on NYD when everyone was recovering from a hangover as there were interior trim parts missing or misaligned and the hood wasn't properly painted (black truck, but inside the air intakes on the hood was still raw white fiberglass) the two salesman were kind of ashamed. They did say there is a VNL 640 enroute that they hope to bring us in the next week to demo for a couple days.

Personally I think it’s the ugliest thing on the road. All this new technology, and aerodynamic packages are getting retarded.

I agree with @Rugerfan it’s the ugliest truck on the road. I don’t care what kind of mpg that thing gets it’s pure ugly. The series before this new one was way nicer looking.

I think it's a nice looking truck. The issues I have is it really isn't a team truck anymore compared to our 2024 860. The old style has tons of storage and room to move around, complaint no flat surfaces except the dining table which is nice but didn't get that option as it makes for a very uncomfortable bed.
The new model, 2 flat surfaces, a small pull out shelf, 1 tiny drawer and very little storage. Smaller fridge, less storage in front overhead. Feels like a cross between the 760 and the 670, size wise feels like a 670 but with a massive dash.
Fuel mileage is the one thing that puts $$ back in you pocket. Went from a 2015 780 at 6.9 avg to a 2024 860 at 9.1 avg during non winter fuel season and 8.9 during winter. Year over year 2023 to 2024 my fuel savings was $25,784 running about the same miles. That is a significant amount of money kept in my business account. Just my 2 cents. -
I think it's fine for anyone who likes it. The new trucks really are comfortable for the driver.
Y'all are welcome to call me a broke joke as I roll by in my 98 T600. You won't hurt my feelinsSons Hero, austinmike, Speedy356 and 5 others Thank this.
