Tidewater Transit - My Experience Before Hire

Kinda ridiculous that companies use up drivers like that still here in 2024. I never worked anywhere that didn't get me home at least once weekly for some decent home time in the almost 25 years I've been trucking. I always looked at the old 1 day off for 6 or 7 days out as something from a bygone era the 60's, 70's and 80's. It's no wonder young people want nothing at all to do with trucking. It doesn't have to be that way. I could find a job at any of a dozen or more regional OTR companies within a half hour of my house tomorrow if I wanted to that actually get all their drivers home for the weekend. It's no wonder they can't find drivers and have a turnover problem if they can't. Every driver should be doing a 34 at home every week, minimum. No excuse for otherwise.

 

I could see being checked out in a mask when hauling ammonia. You gotta know how to use it b4.

 

Took the words out of my mouth. In recent years they’ve been attracting (unwanted or unneeded) attention from Georgia MCCD because their drivers are speed demons!
