You guys need hazmat. Get the ball rolling ASAP. Without hazmat, [good] team options will be severely limited.

    John Dewart Thanks this.

You need them all. Hazmat, doubles, and tanker. Tanker is for a new hazmat rule concerning bulk totes of liquid hazmat.

Go to tsa.gov and click on Hazmat and do the initial application online. You can do that while you're out and schedule your fingerprinting for when you're home. Plan ahead because the fingerprinting locations aren't in every city.

OD really is your best bet. Solo linehaul drivers make over 61cpm, and I believe teams actually make more. @blairandgretchen can shed some light on teaming with them.

    R&L also runs linehaul teams.

Linehaul is the freight that is shuttled between terminals in order to make it across the country. Then, the P&D driver at the destination terminal can deliver it to the customer.

In LTL, the P&D drivers make the deliveries and pick ups during the day and deal with the customers. Linehaul drivers just run the road going from terminal to terminal. Team linehaul helps them keep transit times down on long-haul freight by assigning certain long loads to team trucks that will be able to keep rolling.
