TMC is also partner of the school. I would like to get with them, but I have heard they can be picky about job history, which is a tough one for me.

Used to have one here in Willard, Ohio...hauling dedicated MTD. Heard all good; knew a 2mil miler, had two 'superbowl' (mil mile) ruby rings from them. He'd still be there had he not passed. :(

Yes, they are picky ... very. And, DON'T walk on the grass. EVER. All Marines, operating and training. Strict because they CAN be. They sure DO love and cater to their kind, however.

Thank them for their service, when in contact w/them. I thank ALL y'all for yours, every chance I get, btw. :)

Contact Social Security Administration to get your work history lest you forget about that paper route you had in high school. They don’t let the slightest mistake go, and they will unceremoniously unperson you.

My discharge date from the USMC was Nov 1994, but I initially put June 1994. I went back and corrected it, but it was too late. I guess the pre-adverse action letter was already in the works. They never told me specifically what the problem was because they cut off communication, so I’m assuming that’s what it was.

“Thank you for your service...now piss off!” :p

There was a guy in my class at school who tried to get hired by TMC, but one of his former employers couldn’t/wouldn’t provide a copy of his W2, so he wasn’t hired.

Right on, thanks. I didn't know about this, but it looks like there are a couple different ways to get this info.

One way to request your employment history or provide it to prospective employers is through Equifax, on a site called The Work Number.

It seems to be easy enough - open an account by answering a few simple questions. Request an Employment Data Report. Totally free.

Also, last night during my lunch break I filled out a form on another big trucking site and this morning I was awakened by a call from a recruiter, then I opened up my email inbox and found messages from 4 different megas.

So I guess companies are at least looking for new drivers now. That's good news.

Be advised, they are looking for drivers because of high turnover. Sometimes they dangle a carrot to get drivers to jump on board and then they tie your hands to a steering wheel.

C.P.M. at .55 sounds good until you find out the average lenght of haul is 600 miles every two days. 2100 per week.

The other guy may pay .50 cents per mile and average haul is 450 per day. 3150 per week.

    $ 1,155.00 verses $1575.00 Gross per week.

You can then ask the right questions to negotiate what is better for you.

The thing is, do you want to stay out 3 weeks and make the same as staying out 4 weeks. How you make the big money is up to you.

I always found the first week out from home time was starting over...and it took at last three weeks to make $ 4,500.00 on average per month. If I stayed out longer...4 weeks I was grossing $ 6,000.00 per month. That is roughly $70,000.00 annually.

    EZ Money!
