TN annual OS permits

    Agreed. If I were in your situation, I’d buy the annual in the unlikely event your hassled on it, and not bother with dressing the truck - loaded or empty, until actually OD.

    I’ve heard of tickets being issued, but never first hand.

    GA the same - 75’ overall and large cars run through there all the time overlength. Unenforced?

    FL on the other hand? No. They’re out there with the roller tape , and that’s first hand knowledge. But again, the scale officer let me run, stating I was legal in contradiction to all my own research.

    I commend you for the attempt to run legally in a world of OD regs that are unclear, misinterpreted and muddy. Knowledge is power.

    I can’t help you with your specific question but I will add this.

    We have a whole fleet of 53’ flats and step decks. Probably over 400 of them and every one I have ever pulled have a 24” or 30” kingpin setting. Making them “over length” in Tennessee. Never been hassled. Never heard of anyone being hassled at my company.
