3-4 months is unnecessary and abusive. 3-4 weeks, sure, why not. But 3-4 months is them using you as a team driver. And .50 cpm is after you get your truck. How much is it while you're 'training'?
    Run far, far away.
And, BTW, Knight ain't a dang bit better.
    Look at Schneider and/or Swift.

I'd jump on the Western Dairy Transport or Gemini unless there is some deal-breaker in pay or schedule or location. Tanker is more of the gentlemen's section of trucking, IMO. The tanker endorsement is crazy easy and I'll show you how to make it easier. Tanker has less "creative logging" necessary and it's easier to back than van/reefer. The product surge is a great reminder to drive safely and not like your hair is on fire in most of the industry.

3-4 months with a trainer…my guess that’s to help all the guys that got suckered into doing a lease on a truck. And as soon as you get your own truck, they would be trying to talk you into being a “trainer.” Honestly, a real trainer, not some rookie fresh out of Dumb and Dumber program, should be able to train a student to be a solid driver in 3 weeks. And the 3rd week, let the student run the whole show. I wouldn’t expect a “trainer” fresh out of the Dumb and Dumber to produce anything solid PERIOD.

The thing that irks me about your post is that you are more worried about getting along with the trainer than learning your craft. I wouldn’t care. We’re not here to be friends. Neither one of you are there to win popularity contest. Someone’s here to learn, someone’s here to teach. Now, if I am here to learn, you could be the crappiest trainer that has ever worn a seatbelt and I will still learn. If you can drive that rig across country and put it in any hole they need you to put it in, I can learn from you.

There’s not a big difference between a great trainer and a garbage guy, there’s a million little differences. A real trainer will be able to explain to you in cornbread language and show you how to be above average. Every company, the top drivers drive the exact same trucks as everyone else, run the same roads, deal with the same customers and dispatch and stupid company policies…and STILL make 1.5-2X the money the average driver makes. I’m here for the money, not the popularity contest.

“But Six, what about Prime vs Knight?”

My guess is some recruiters showed up to the school and offered employment. If this is why you are considering these two, you are being lazy. What’s the 5year career path? Plan accordingly

    Six back quiet.
