Tractor Weight Too Heavy? Specing a new truck

    I’ve had her for 3 months n some change now. Sits at 36,700 with 3/4 tanks with my reefer. Done fairly well thus far. Hauling my heaviest with her right now at ~44k.

    Headboards and tire chains and things add up fast. I had an ‘85 Freightliner COE that hit 24,000lbs full of fuel.

    Spec your truck and trailer with super singles and you will save about 1600 pounds on the whole setup... 400 pounds per axle.

    it will also force you to call road service when you blow one and a tow truck to get over a banana peel

    Yes for the service call... But lack of traction is BS. Ran barefoot over many many snowy mountain passes pushing snow with the front bumper, only ever spun out once.
