i like those billboards you see for Schneider saying "be home weekends" or the other companies who advertise "be home more, take home more".
well what is 'more'? you're home 5 days out of the month rather than 4? well i guess that IS more.....

With Swift you deliver 22 or 27 loads you can go on the accelerated pay program. I sent in 2 BOL's with the wrong trip number. One from December. Just sent them in yesterday. I was paid for them a long time ago.

That was a big bonus of HH in Sumner. We did 2-4 trips a day, so was on accelerated pay in the 3rd week (no scanners when I started).

It just means you will be paid for the trip the next payday if you get the empty call completed before Wednesday at Midnight as opposed to having to wait until the scanned trip is processed by payroll (pre 20 + trips scanned in).
If you have 20 trips scanned in, you automatically will be on accelerated pay. Let's say you dilly dally and don't scan your 21st load in til the 6th day, oops you just dropped to 19 scanned trips and that trip may come up missing on your next paycheck. Try to scan your trips as soon as possible after your empty call, nothing worse than waiting for the guy who comes up to the counter with 8 days worth of trips and logs to scan in when you're just there to pay for your hot coffee which will turn cold by the time the scans are complete. -

Because it is considered company business. If you are in the middle of your 10 hour break or 34 hour break and decided to go in and take a shower, grab a meal and scan your trips, your break needs to start over from the beginning.

I just got off my mentors truck.
We scanned from truck stops all the time, because we were not always near a terminal.
And, we normally did it on off-duty time. It is the way he has done it for the past several years, and never a problem. Technically you are supposed to be on line 4, though. Hopefully they will continue to overlook it, since it takes so little time and it is usually done while you are doing other off-duty business.
Just remember, when you scan from a truck stop it will take longer to reach Swift. It can takes a couple days, while scanning from a terminal kiosk goes in immediately. -
