Yea I've got mine at just over 7k hours and thankfully I work for Prime and just pay a rental fee weekly for the APU, the only thing I pay for is if a belt breaks, and regular service, the rest is basically warranty work 24/7. The only way it isn't is if I let it overdue for service and there's a major issue, then they could charge me.
But recently blew the alternator myself btw. Been cooking with an electric skillet myself and a microwave a lot because I'm on keto, stopped eating out at all, so I've startedv pulling the trailer brakes, with my brakes pushed in to make the truck idle, and running idle control at 900rpm in order to cook on the engine itself instead of APU. Pretty sure the truck alternator on a Freightliner is a bit heavier duty than a generator. Lol -
So to update this. Went to TK and they said control panel is bad. They replaced it as well as thermostat housing which didn't come with bleeder petcock. It still has ENG if I leave it sitting overnight and truck hasn't been running for a day or two. If i run truck to warm it up, shut it off and then apu powers on to charge batterird-apu will turn on off as needed until coolant cools off

The only thing I can think of is the oil pressure is slow to come up or sensor thinks it is. How long since you serviced it?
Maybe @reeferwrencher has some other ideas.mitmaks Thanks this. -
TK said they replaced oil sensor

https://www.dalesapusales.com/ This place is in Springfield mo. They claim to do free diagnostics. I know nothing about them,I just ran across the website looking for used unit pricing.

As stated above, the best way to avoid air pockets is to run the truck engine for a while, preferably on a higher then idle rpm and then run the tripac.I,m a bit confused though,is the tripac overheating?
-
If its overheating why does it run fine once I run truck engine for 10 minutes and then coolant is hot. Apu runs now without shutting down once batteries are charged. It ran over an hour today and I was waiting for it to shut down but it just kept on running and I shut it off cause I had to leave yard.

It’s probably best to start a new thread so that all the info is in one place.
When the unit is cold does it not start or start and run then shut down?sealevel Thanks this. -
Yes when unit is cold it starts runs for 5-10 minutes and shuts down. If I reset and restart apu it will run maybe 3-5 minutes and shuts down again.
Only if I run truck engine it will run without shutting down
