I try to do mine every 1000. It has 15,000 hours on it and still runs good.

BTW, Fram XG3593A oil filters will fit this motor. (The highest quality filter... don't use the plain orange can ones). They are available at walmart vs. having to find a TK dealer.

Box of Tj and mitmaks Thank this.

I picked up bunch of filters on rockauto.com they have good deals and sometimes clearance price is like $2 a filter.

Which filter do you use for fuel? Factory tk filter is ~$50 and Wix interchange number 33962 show filter/water separator with drain valve on the bottom for 1/2 price of TK filter.

I pay the high dollar for the TK 3000 hour filters because they are designed to return the water to the tank, although it seems to me I pay like $39 for them. A Fleetguard FS19580A will work though.

I also got rid of the factory fuel pump and strainer. I mounted a Facet cube style fuel pump outside the enclosure and a mini Davco style fuel screen before it, like they use on the newer Evolutions.

The fuel pump I got from Napa for $56 and the fuel screen came from TK... around $30 I think.

In the black plastic housing on the left. Cover has a metal clasp. I just change it when it looks bad.

I think I have a Napa belt on there right now. It differs even among the same model year... some had idlers, some not, bigger pulleys, etc.

Take your belt off and visit your nearest parts store. Have them measure it and get you a replacement.

Use only Napa Gold or Gates belts.

Dayco or any other brand are too spongy and won't hold up to the heat.
