It's no secret that many homeless people travel to places with nice weather and large population centers without punitive attitudes toward the homeless.

So, politics aside, why were 17 people injured? I would guess they had enough time between seizing the truck and loading the explosives into their containment vehicle to knock on doors and evacuate the neighborhood. You know, just in case something went wrong.

Because everyone was standing outside when it happened. There are videos all over the Internet of people standing about a half block away from the truck and they all had their phones out recording it.

“Officers went door-to-door,” LAPD. Lt. Raul Jovel told CBSLA. “After the explosion, they discovered that some folks were still in the vicinity that did not answer the door. And that’s how we discovered that some folks were injured.”

Well honestly some neighborhoods of California look like a bomb went off, so this isn't really shocking at all.....

Pretty much every state in the union has places like that. Mostly the result of decades of redlining.
