Either empty or loaded makes little difference. Also gear seems to make little difference. Under full acceleration or sometimes going up a hill it will rev up a bit like something is slipping. Any idea what it could be? 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. 10 speed manual. 565,000 miles.

Get under that truck, and adjust the clutch.
Oxbow and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Do you have free play on the pedal?
Oxbow, Rideandrepair, Big Road Skateboard and 1 other person Thank this. -
, not the end of the world, usually the disc springs break before it slips. Slipping could indicate something leaking on it? Slipping is the worst thing, because now the flywheel is warped, and will chatter like Aunt Tilly with a glass of wine. I went through 3 clutches( on 2 separate trucks) and everytime, the springs in the disc broke. I went back to the parts guy and said, this isn't right, he said, well you can go with "Extreme Duty", with no springs. I said, lay it on me, brother, and never had a clutch issue again.
Cattleman84 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Yep, if you have any free play at all and it’s slipping, time for a new clutch. That’s what they do, slip at higher RPMs only at first. Eaton 2250 easy pedal gets my vote. Great clutch at a great price. Should last over a million miles.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Well you guys were right. I had the clutch replaced. It was a self adjusting clutch so they couldn’t do anything with it.
Oxbow, 201, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this.
