I think you’re on the right track approximately with your thinking except for fuel mileage. Depending what you pull you’ll never get 7 mpg. I had a 06 Freightliner Century 14 liter Detroit pulling a wood chip wagon locally and made 4.3 mpg. I have a 17 Cascadia now doing same thing and make 5.3. All depends what you pull and the terrain for fuel mileage. Unless your on flat ground with and empty flat bed you won’t touch 7 mpg though. I’d say MAYBE 5.5.

Others might tell you differently, but my 17 has a lifetime of 7.5 pulling a tanker cross country. Now I’m getting 5.3. All depends what you do, but a pre emission isn’t going to hit 7 I doubt.

I remember thumbing through a few 4900 Western Star shop manuals years ago and there was a page for decoding the VIN. As I recall there was mention of at least 1 digit that denoted a glider. -
Western Star was the full 17 digits though. -
