I gotta agree with Scottie on this one. Right lane swift didn't have to do anything. Left lane swift should be pulled from the truck and pummeled.

    Burrito powers unite!

I'm gonna side with Scottie on this one. Since when is it the guy in the right lane's job to slow down for every dicktree that wants to pass them? The biggest tool there of course is the moron who went onto the shoulder to pass. I'd have laughed my ### off if right lane Swift happened to "accidently" drift over to the right a bit and put that ####### into the weeds or a sign.

Scottie why not be helpful to the handful of cdl students that drop in here for help on shifting, backing etc?

I have not realized to the extent to which some are giving scottie such a hard time these last several weeks.

I'll be the first to say I like his videos, they have usually something in them somewhere good or bad. It's not for everyone. It's not often I sit online watching trucker videos... and not from too many people either. Some are worth the time and are thought provoking. For better or worse.

Im actually happy for once that there was no video stuff that big in my time on the road, you would all give me a hard time like you are giving Scottie. Hast not one of you lived in a glass house too? What more can I say?

Should we reduce our videos to basic shifting, backing and so forth? that any student visiting TTR will have a wonderful time refreshing with that content? At some point they have to grow feathers and leave the nest and run with the big boys and they might get passed on the solid line like this one truck did. Heck ive done some passing in my time way back when. Thinking back on some of them it was stupid. Still stupid now. Im just glad there are no videos floating around from that time to bite me over and over. Stories yes. Videos no.

I don;t mind a bit of horseplay with teeth and horseshoes here and there now and then or a bit of teasing. But these last three weeks several of the forum members have been overloaded on Scotties video. I don't exactly understand why just yet, maybe I have not yet caught back up to TTR's current latest titillation over the latest screw up de-jour. But somethings bent here and I would suggest that it gets unbent.

For all our sakes. What do you think we would look like to a bunch of kiddies coming out of kindergarden school and wanting to learn about trucking. But instead regaled with stories and legends of a Scottie who cannot make a video worth a #### to please everyone? Huh??? Someone answer me that.

I have some videos like that out too. I took your advice from last year and mostly focus on keeping my videos over on youtube and avoid posting everything over here which gets a chilly reception. I think what happens is experience truckers who've trucked all day don't want to spend their downtime watching some other trucker trucking. That leaves just the newbie truckers to talk to. I feel that has been done to death from all the other trucking vloggers on youtube.

My focus now is just filming my life as a trucker. I'm attracting more and more nontruckers to my channel which is very cool. At the same time experienced truckers still pop in with their hate and trollish behavior. But I feel the videos are kind of a time capsule. Imagine 20 plus years from now the videos will be a treasure.

I took IT in college for better or worse for a couple years, long enough to discover what I really hate and what I really like (Programming? AUGH!!!!) anyhow...

if you consider the machine language presentation of data in a form readable by humans in Binary form and with the right structure to get the ones and zeros off a storage drive of that data from the server such as this forum post... to present to a screen for a human to read it should be around approximately 10 to 30,000 years into our future. Long after we are gone.

We are already considering technology where it is possible to have magnetic ram, chemical gas protected storage drives that "Fly" using magnetic impeller until reaching a speed at which the inert gases will cool and maintain the platters as they fly by at tens of thousands of rpms past the optical seeker head which no longer needs to skip around gathering bits.

We may already be moving carefully towards a form of optical storage where light itself is the medium. Theoratically if you could capture a part of the sun itself and keep it stable, you could theoratically store data to it for a billion or three years until it burns out and changes into a red giant that consumes our own planet.

Whatever we write is captured onto the internet and stored. It will be probably around a minimum of 10,000 years long after we are dead and gone. I don't know how many generations that would be, I already managed to trace back #### near 9 generations in some sections of my family that is roughly between 1570 to 1620 or so ish... when some of them first came to america. But whose parents were not preserved in paper or bible records. There was a court house that should have contained that data that far back, but it was sacked by Union Troops in 1865 during the assault against Richmond, some of the papers were returned (Roughly SE of WIlliamsburg VA which was known as warwick region.. some of our eariliest settlements...) so I go back to 1670 or so and there begin to lose what was either burned or never recorded in parts of information.

My family will trace me going back 10,000 years from now. If they ever wanted to. I wont be around to worry about that stuff.

Remember I grew up without a internet when it was a simple tool connecting two computers in a lab during the cold war years with the idea that if we ever endured a proper nuclear exchange computers will still survive in at least two or three each enough to rebuild a LAN and into WAN and so forth into a resurrection of what was once our internet before it was destroyed in such a war. But they wont kill all of the net. The earth itself will have to literally pass away before the net as we understand it goes bye bye.

I should put down my coffee pot. I get into these moods and always kickmyself and think to shut up... but sometimes it's a thought considering what you put online in whatever form. Music, video, text, stories etc.

What gets my goat is that there is enough information catched on the video from the offending truck passing unsafely and at speed. With the right date and time stamps you could determine to indict that trucker for unsafe passing and breach of speed limit at any time should the local area choose to prosecute.

What is the limitation on such things? Years? Decades? Never?

This is why I got the bodycam and put it on my forehead to PROVE I wasn't doing anything to provoke reactions from other drivers in the hopes of getting some good youtube footage. I would appreciate your most sincere apology to me.
