Man all these images of crashes makes me want to install a 24 point roll cage, just in case.
Rip driverIntothesunset, Bud A. and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Trucks, = fiberglass, plastic and lightweight aluminum, they are not where you want to be in a bad wreck.
Bud A. Thanks this. -
Driver was dumping jack knifed on purpose. Tubing is one of the more dangerous driving jobs. Guy never felt anything. Sad.
Intothesunset and Bud A. Thank this. -
You can dump with a slight jack-knife if your material is dry enough to slide easily, you have a full lift tailgate and your footing is solid.
Sticky material, a barn door gate, and uneven ground are a recipe for trouble.
I wouldn't try to dump at the angle shown in the pictures.
Sometimes you have to tell a jobsite foreman no and find a better place to dump.Intothesunset, Long FLD, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have found that (sometimes) comes pretty often, sadly this guy never got the chance to learn that.
Intothesunset and Lepton1 Thank this. -
REO6205, D.Tibbitt, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this.

In the gulf coast region, the ground is just not that stable, I always hated end dump trailers, the longer the worst. You could start up perfectly level and one side sink a little when you get it up. I would never work or stand next to one when dumping. It was common to do everything right and still flop one once in a while.
Bud A., FlaSwampRat and Lepton1 Thank this.
