Arnold Nebraska. They have an open road race there called the Sandhills Race. Kind of a big 'run what you brung' type deal where consistency wins. The others were the SilverStateClassic of Ely,NV and the BigBend of south Texas. That is of course if grassroots motorsports is your thing.

There's almost always some sort of motorsport event going on in just about every town you go to.

History is everywhere. . If you're into it, check it out.. OP, theres always the option of online searches and local sources..

During an inspection, a officer suggested a place or two visit. When I said I didn't have much time, the gentleman said ' make time'

Henry Doorly Zoo at 13th Street and I-80 in Omaha is one of the best in the country.....definitely worth a visit. No truck parking on site as far as I know though.

I'm primarily sticking to driving local and set days now.
But reading up on things like "rural flight" from the MidWest, I've always been intrigued by the number of ghost towns that might exist in the Plains States.
I figure I'll either rent a car, or even get my recently acquired DR650 outfitted for long distance touring.

It'd be nice to check out some rural abandonments that aren't all just composed of a barren sub-floor.
