I'm new to trucking I have a question so if I'm in The Sleeper Birth for 20 hours at a shipper when they're done loading me after 20 hours am I supposed to do some kind of inspection again or log it as on duty loaded and just leave?

Pre-trip before every shift and post trip at the end of shift. If you’ve done a 10 hr break, then you’re starting a new shift.homeskillet, Pamela1990, buddyd157 and 2 others Thank this.

How did you end up waiting for 20 HOURS at a shipper??? Did your Company pay you anything for that? Holy s#!T
sevenmph, bryan21384, Trucker95 and 1 other person Thank this. -

the shipper held me up every time I went back into the building to try to get them to load the trailer they just kept on telling me the load wasn't ready yet and yes I'm being paid for it.
homeskillet, Accidental Trucker and Chinatown Thank this. -
You usually show 15 min unloading. If it were me, I would do an edit and add post trip to the notation section. If you have omnitracs, there are 2 sections that drop down. Do unloading for one section and post trip for the other. Then once you leave, your do your pretrip.Trucker95 Thanks this.

20 hours in Sleeper looks suspicious. You didn't leave to use restroom or sit in the driver seat? To a cop it looks like a convenient fiction you used to save HOS. Split up the 20 hours with ANY combination of Sleeper and Off-Duty. Heck you might even go ahead and log it however you actually spent the time.
As long as you never had any On-Duty or Driving in the 20 hours it doesn't hurt your HOS to log it as you did it or to use Sleeper & Off-Duty anyway you want.Speed_Drums and Trucker95 Thank this. -
thank you everyone for your help.
tscottme Thanks this.
