Oh God NO!
Macks are the worst trucks out their! Their is a reason they are cheap as hell! No power, terrible mileage, and break constantly....
I was talking to a company, and someone asked about the mpg on a Mack, and the guy says "5". Someone asks "5mpg?" and the guy responds "What? You want more?"... the company was pretty much convinced that anybody who said trucks get more than 5mpg was lying...

best ride....W900L KW.....but i like both Kw and 379/389 Pete....
-
359 Pete--but a stretched out done tight B Model would suit me fine

To each their own I guess--y Baskin Robbins has all them flavors---but I do find it interesting reading thru this and many other polls--how it seems that some of the most adament posters about which is best or worst comes from(by their own icons)those with the least time out here--interesting hmmmmmGiggles the Original Thanks this. -
Hahaha... Yes, but for all that extra fuel cost for the W900! The new trucks save $5-10,000 a year! No joke... then add on an APU!
And they issued me a 379 with an APU, real nice... but the plastic was breaking apart already and the cabinets dont have doors.... The APUs that pete choose are much better, better ventilation and cooling... but I cannot honestly recommend them because the quality was crap.
Ive had a pair of Cascadias, great truck. Very reliable, the ride is more than acceptable. The only time I felt worn out and thrown around was US-59/69 in Oklahoma... what a nightmare with those slabs of concrete. Can you call that a road?
Those little cab Kenworths might be a good owner op truck, but the cummins were pretty unreliable in our Internationals and Im actually afraid to buy one... But the Detroits are super reliable. I was stuck in the dealer for a week, and the owner ops were really laid back and happy with their freightliners. I have not had a single owner op tell me they didnt break 1.2 million miles before rebuild. Detroits are great...
I actually met the guy who got flipped in that Birmingham AL Tornado, and he took his money and bought another used Freightliner from Schneider. He would tow these JB hunt trailers and pick up loads for other companies on the backhauls... he said they shippers got confused as hell HAHAHAHA! I can bet! A big orange truck with JB Hunt on the trailer and with a third company on the bills! HAHAHAHA -
i got 6.3 and up with mine (KW)...and had a cat...

have u ever tried to run team in a freightliner???? on I 40?? or I 10???? -
Actually, I trained for a year in a 2011 Cascadia, and fell in love with the truck. I ran a dedicated that served stores from Missouri-Virginia south, all the way to the Keys and over to Houston. I would run I-40 between the two major DCs at least twice a week, and if I wasnt on I-40, I was on I-10 somewhere between Houston and Jacksonville.
So ya, Ive run both of them somewhere around 300-400 times...
I ran the same routes in an International for a few weeks, thank you Jesus that it blew a seal and the coolant went into the oil! Best breakdown ever! I thought I was having a stoke because the international gave such poor support to my left arm, that the whole left side of my body would tense at the end of the day.
I said something about that, and the whole room of truckers exploded about it! They were like "Wait! What? You are having that too! I though it was because I was getting old!!!!!" one of them actually told me he quit because he thought he was aching because his age, and then he came back like a moron and got lucky to get a Cascadia. Magically, he stopped having cramps in the left side of his body!!!
I also found that those $100 gel mattresses from Walmart work great to reduce the little bouncing in the Cascadia.
I trusted my Cascadia so much, I only used the sleeper net once... when I had some moron from New York city who had hit a SWAT van in his personal car! He blamed the cops! How the hell do you hit a SWAT van in a car??? Good thing he ended up being a yard dog!!!! Too bad for him, he sucks at backing bwahahahahah!
But really, however Werner orders their Cascadias... they ride so much better than internationals. And the sound level has come down so far! I started in century, had an international, then a Cascadia, and then another Cascadia, and the first one was more quiet than any other. Then when I got the second one, they silenced the turbo somehow... and the sound level was impressively low.
Like, Im rending a 2013 Nissan Altima, a very good car... and the Cascadia is MUCH more quiet. -
well thank goodness they make diff trucks huh? you couldnt GIVE me a freightliner....
-
Bet Weiner couldn't give you a driving job to go along with that Freightliner.
