I'm a regional driver, I go home most every night, and even the nights I'm out, I still try and not spend time at the truckstop counter. But, I do on occasion have breakfast at the Sapp Bros. in Denver on weekends, there's a group of regulars that all eat together. Tonight, wasn't ready to go home, decided to stop for dinner. I've always wondered if those stories I read about on here are true, about the drivers sitting around the truck stop counter, bragging about this, that or the other.

Good grief, not only are they true, but apparently you guys are downplaying things. Between the three I heard chatting tonight, not only did the President, (all 45 of them), personally seal this guys records, but he (they) also all personally called Boeing and vouched for this guy before he was given a security clearance job. When I first sat down, apparently these three were all ex 1% HA's (Hells Angels) who also belonged to S.O.S. and at least 4 other bikers gangs all at the same time, and at least one owns a chopper made from Unobtanium, while the other one supposedly beat up 4 HA's in a biker bar because they looked at him sideways, and because his sisters, boyfriends, mom's, brothers, cousin's dog walker was friends with one of the gangs leaders, they let him walk unscathed.

Oh, I also forgot, one was in line to receive the very first national CCW permit, personally signed by Obama had the law passed. His words, not mine.

All the drivers I had seen at night were too burned out. Usually just wanted to eat their meal and go back to their truck.

Sounds like a colorful place to eat that you had your dinner

I sit as far away from the counter as humanly possible. I can’t stand the trucker tales that take place. 99.9% are absolute BS.

    Let the BS begin.

Heck I would eat there once a week if it wasn’t for they all tend to be Close Talkers as well.

I thought it was all a myth also until I bumped onto one at a Dairy. He had my ear for 20 minutes while I continually tried to avoid him.

Chasing me around spewing his tales until i got out of there,

I have a feeling those tales are from dirt haulers that wish their lives were more exciting

    Heard this just yesterday...

What’s the difference between a toilet and a swift driver?

    A toilet can back up.

    Lunch counter FTW!
