Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but my question is similar. Anyone that followed my other thread knows pretty much what happened, but for those that don't. I was trained by a company for 4 weeks, then given my own truck. In my first week I got into a minor crash (no damage to tractor/trailer, minor fender damage to the other) and was terminated a few days later. That was well over a year ago, and I had initially given up on driving. Thinking about giving it another go, what are the chances of a company giving someone like me a second chance?

With Knight you probably talked to one of the recruiters for the experienced drivers. Since you do not have a consistent recent work history in driving, they will require you to go through their refresher training. It costs you 1200 dollars, but is internally financed by them and taken out of your check at 25/week. Call Knight and tell them you are looking in to their Squire program. The Squire program deals with non CDL holders and CDL refresher training. They will get you hooked up. If you are in Cali, they will have you go to the Phoenix terminal for the training.
