The school I'm going to works with 25 of the biggest carriers in the country so finding one that will pay for tuition won't be an issue, just wanted to know if it was a bad idea to wait a couple months to sign on to a company and the chances of them still covering tuition

Companies will prehire you just make sure you don't forget things that are taught in school.

What I was told while in school was companies want you within a 60-90 window. If you can't commit in that amount of time you would be considered a risk.

KLLM had the quickest tuition reimbursement that I could find. $150 a month and a final payout at the end of your first year, up to a specified amount.

Just like it was stated already, some companies want you to be out of trucking school no longer than 30-45 days. So that is why a lot of people here are telling you to wait until you are ready to take that leap into the drivers seat. If you wait a couple months it will knock some companies off of your radar for who will hire you.

The Company will not begin their deductions until you begin working for them; scenario one: go to school on a monday 10th of October graduate 1st week of Nov. The State does not have an opening for the CDL test until the end of Nov. But, taking the road test...i failed the road test due to poor parallel parking . The Next opening for a CDL State test date isnt until middle of Dec. (The second examine & hey...i passed it.) X-mas holidays come around and i want to stay home. The Company has orientation dates that start in Jan. we all agree on the start date 5 Jan., (monday). I attend Company orientation, refill out employment applications, take written tests, road tests, pass drug screen, take a physical. Next, (probably around the 8th Jan) assigned a truck & trainer...i think i'll get my payroll check the end of the following week...16th Jan. (i will see their deduction for school) These dates are all approx. Just be honest with your start dates & you'll find the Company agreeable.

Why would reimbursement be a concern with the big bucks these guys are making?

I guess I'm just skeptical, not saying it's not possible, I just don't want to get my hopes up
