I don’t know if I buy that turnover is going up. Why, just today I saw this sign on the back of a Celadon trailer:

“8 out of 10 of our drivers plan to retire with us”.

Read that closely. I’m guessing they ask newbies that in orientation.

Man, I miss Menards! Them and Fleet Farm. I loved going to fleet farm. They literally sell everything under the sun.

The gov and companies keep trying to lock drivers down like theyre machines and keep taking away any freedom the road offers. Its not worth being away from home or working 70 hours a week for the same paycheck drivers made in the 70s and missing all kinds of home and family time.

More major changes than most could handle/put up with. Many of us that left saw the writing on the wall that this is part of the long term plan to push out the senior drivers, claim private fleet is no longer economically viable, and write "operated by (insert mega here) on door" and quietly kill off the fleet just like Harley Davidson, Goodyear, (funny, new supply chain specialist worked there previously) auto zone, dilliards, etc.

The key word is Plan...it doesn't say they do...Celadon might plan...to be the best ,pay the most and retain 8 of 10 drivers...but not likely to ever happen

Yep Walmart did very **** practice, they lowered salary, and when good guys left, they started to hire people for peanuts , cause rookies don't know any better

Exactly, they don’t say “8 out of 10 do retire”. That crap hole would be upset and trying to figure out how to stop it if people were actually retiring. That’d eat into the profits. Lol
