Young man, i was driving a truck before your daddy or mother even thought about having you. I retired some 16 years from a major union carrier and I have seen what "the race to the bottom" has produced. Angry? Not angry, just frustrated with the intelligence of drivers today. But you go on and drive 4 or 5 hours and then work the dock for several hours and then drive your 4 or 5 hours back, try to stay awake.

And you have proven by this very statement, just what type of man you are. You can't even show respect for our President. Oh, maybe you don't approve of him, but the system of democracy put him in the Oval Office. And you probably don't believe in the form of democracy that we have. Do you? You certainly don't show it.

ups is a very good company to work for!!! the pay is some of the best for a in town truck driver. i work in south florida area and been with ups for 5 years. i load trailers in the evening time and make 13.17 per hour doing a pretty easy job and get fully paid health insurance . im also a part time driver too that pay rate is 25.19 per hour. from the looks of it i have probaly another 3 years before full time package car driver!

For the guys bashing ups from the looks of it you couldnt make it there !!!

For the record, I'm not here bashing UPS or anybody that chooses to work for them. I am a fan of Unions and what they do for the working man. Some shops are more Union friendly than others though. I once worked in a shop that was a constant battle between Union and Mgmt. Somebody would file a grievance on mgmt. then they would harass a junior level employee till they could find a safety violation and write somebody up. Constant back and forth and out for blood between both sides. Hardly ever was work discussed, it was all about who was filing a grievance or who mgmt. was preying on. I personally did not care for the drama and I paid union dues every month. FYI... this was not a Teamster shop, so I can't speak for those operations. Just sharing my union experience.

unions when they just started were a great concept. now unions are nothing but corrupt dues stealing organizations. I will never work for a union company. I'm very anti union if you couldn't tell, but there is a forum for that.lol

I made $15.00 dollars an hour loading feeders at the DFW air hub in 1996. Your Union reps have failed you miserably. That's unbelievable that you make less money NOW than we were making 15 years ago. :biggrin_2559:

Yea by 2016 you might be making $10 dollars an hour. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

WOW just like old times. Working with the hoodrats in da warehouse. $260 bucks for 20 hours work is horrible. My insurance is nothing compared to UPS's but I remain healthy and generally take care of myself.

I make about 52K a year and have no rules to follow. I obey the law and do whatever I please so long as the job is performed. Stick with it though and in a few years after you've made it then you can comeback and tell me how much your making.

There's more to life than money and their certainly is no time for the stupid idiotic rules that ol Buster Brown makes sure you follow via spies and CCTV.
