Make sure you know what your getting into, because it sounds like you applied for Truckload. Just because you applied to UPS Freight doesn't mean you'll be getting that UPS money if you're working for Truckload. You won't be making as much as the Union LTL side, nor will you have a Pension, and you won't have any Union Representation either if you get caught not doing things the UPS way. And you MAY also be looked at by the hardcore Union members as a Scab too. Only thing you'll have is knowing that you can say you work for UPS, and that's about it. But if Truckload is OK for you...than I hope it works out for you. If not, go back to your online account and make sure it doesn't say OTR or Truckload. Then go back to the job menu and look for applications for either City Driver (which is P&D for UPSF), Road Driver (which is Linehaul for UPSF), or Tractor Trailer Driver (which is for UPS Parcel for either a Full-time, Part-time, Casual or Seasonal Feeder Driver, you won't know which until you submit your application). Good luck.
UPS, FedEx, JB Hunt or TMC? Help!

The ads say $.7042 cpm and fully funded pension.
Whoops; that ad is no longer showing; maybe it was in error.Last edited: Mar 25, 2018
Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
That's sounds more like the top rate for Linehaul....
UPS Freight Truckload is hiring!Chinatown Thanks this. -
That UPS job is NOT the one with brown uniforms.
It is the freight division.
Not to say it's bad, but folks eyes light up like Christmas when they see that acronym. Non union.. freight job, without link to the parcel division.
May still be the best of the lot you mentioned.
TMC has really nice equipment. I can say that from years of passing them.
Top notch rides. Idk about inner workings of the company. They likely have their own thread here.Last edited: Mar 25, 2018

Fedex Freight starting out on the bottom, you will drive very little. Most of the time you'll be working the dock. That goes for linehaul or city. Linehaul you might pull a set 40 minutes up the road, work the dock 8 hours, and then drive back to your home 20.
Takes forever to gain seniority there because the boards hardly move. So you could be stuck on a towmotor for quite some time. And if freight slows, you'll be sitting at home lucky to get 20 hrs per week on the dock.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good job....IF you're willing to make very little money when it slows or you have outside income or a wife with a good job. -
Easy FedEx or ups.

I rec'd a hire from UPS today pending my road test and medical. It's for p&d, starting pay a little below $18, with top out over $28 after 4 years. It's union, and a career job. I'm a green driver, but am confident my road test will go smoothly. Did you make your decision on which company you'd like to go with?

It’s coming down to UPS or TMC. I am actually leaning more towards TMC. Both are ready to schedule me for orientation. UPS is the special truckload division. I am assuming that’s what you all are referencing above.
I like the idea of being able to take my truck home and not drive back and forth, and I like how TMC is taking a lot more time answering my very detailed questions. I have tried very hard to find bad things or complaints and I had only found them from either lazy workers or dishonest hires.
UPS would be servicing Ferguson and I can choose van or flat.
Why is this so hard? -
So you received a hire from UPS?

Which family owned companies do you like Lamcia?
