That small company mentality doesn't really fly anymore. Read thru the bad company section and look how many "mom and pop " companies are burning people.

No experence is no experence, all the big companies are going to bend you over and have at you for six months. Then they get pissed when you leave, find a local delivery company and pay your dues. That or team drive with an experenced driver. Drivers from california just pay a farmer to lie about the experence.

While your at it, show me a large mega trash hauler that isn't known for burning people. -
Well we ran into the same thing with them and finally called it quits. We were sitting as much as we drove and no money as a team like that we would get a 600-700 mile run then next load was 30 hours after. We finally quit and has been the best thing we got jobs near home I make 29.00 hr wife makes 18.00 hr working back in our old fields before trucking. When you leave make sure they got you going close to home go down for maintance at terminal or something or go down for hrs. that way they pull load from you. And when you are free of load tell them or they will try to strand you way far away from home as they can. We gave notice when we were on home time for 4 days and dropped truck off our 2nd day on hometime so they couldn't give us a load. Get terminal to look at truck and sign off on it . they did that with no problem.

dont' know what drugs you take but I just quit them 90% of them I would say are 35-45 and most are teams . there biggest problem is the office side of trucking at usx dont give a #### about the drivers or there time.

U S Xpress is absolutely one of the worst company's out there to drive for, at least if you're solo. They make Werner look like royalty. Sometimes, they'll have 2 or 3 dispatchers telling you what to do on the same load. Stay well away from them if you're going to go solo. Also, if you go 25 miles out of route, they charge you 1.00 a mile for everymile over that. Now , that may not be bad if you actually go out of route, but your truck gps sometimes tells you your out of route, when you're not. Then you have to start calling and hang on the line for 30 minutes to tell them what's up. They say, don't pay any attention to it, but they sure will, and try to charge you. A bunch of crooks. The whole #### bunch

Also, I guess they've pretty much went through all the new drivers, because I got a card from X in the mail, wanting me to come back to work for em. I'm sure everyone else that worked for them before got the same thing. Ain't no way I'd ever go back to that lousy place.

Not me, I claimed back pay and overtime pay on them when they fired me as a local driver for what they stated was a pattern of confrontation with management. They did not follow WA labor laws and even tried to claim I was still a OTR driver because I still had a old sleeper truck. They got laughed out of the hearing room and payed out around 3 times what their thugs tried to buy me off at to drop the case. I had already rolled Penske years before that for acting a fool so I new the rules, and that they where not being followed. Hence they are the only trucking outfit that have me listed as not eligible for rehire on my DAC. -
1,989 Unsafe Driving violations on their SMS BASIC score in the last 24 months, wow. From what I could tell, their trucks average about 2,000 miles weekly (or are they cheating on their fuel tax reports?). Lots of complaints all over the internet about them leaving drivers stranded without a way home after they decided, without any explanation, to not hire them.
And yet, despite the low miles, the way they treat experienced drivers (on par with most BFI training companies), and the shear numbers of unsafe drivers (although they are a large company, but still, 1 in 5 is getting cited for unsafe driving? C'mon, that's just unacceptable!), drivers keep showing up for orientation, and then go through that potential crap shoot not even knowing if they really have the job until they are either handed keys or told to walk home.
Until more drivers start fighting back, instead of fighting amongst themselves for the scraps off the corporate master's table, things will only get worse. Unfortunately, most drivers don't have the guts to stand up to BFI carriers, which is why there are so ###### many of them today.ATL-1 Thanks this. -
you should never go to Oreintation if you dont have the job already. The paperwork and background checks should be done before you
arrive. I will drive to my first day just in case...
