Gasoline generator makes it easier figuring tax write offs too. With the diesel APU you have to figure out how many hours you ran it this quarter and therefore how many gallons it burned in each state to peel that off your IFTA reporting.
With the gasoline, I just take a pic of the receipt, convert it to a .pdf and send it to my tax guy who writes it 100% off as we go.

Because an Espar runs off your diesel and only uses .02 gallons per hour!
-
first question, Are you the new anti-generator advicate ?
second question 0.02 gal/hr ? I got info direct from Espar website coverts to 0.17 gal/hr where did you get 0.02 from ?
I'm with Hurst, although my setup has heatpump and 6,000 btu element, you can buy a simple heater that is cheap and safe. I would actually recommend a quartz heater. The type Hurst linked is very slow to heat up and cool down. you want something that will start throwing heat right away, and is safe to put away a few minutes after shutting off. see below. -
Right on the spec sheet. .02 .04 .06 .07 depending on setting. I have a Rigmaster. I'm all about saving fuel.

.02 gal of diesel is 2700 btu
-
Still, far cry from .17 which was quoted above. The most it uses is .07 in boost mode.
-
That plus portable heaters are illegal according to the green bible.
-
At .02 equaling 2700 is perfect efficiency. It heats the radiator fluid? I'm sure it's cheap, but what is the buy in cost?
-
Not hooked to radiator. Just a heater. Can find new for around $950. Easy to install.

Uh. No they are not. Open flame portable heaters however are not allowed inside a cmv.KenworthGuyNH Thanks this.
