That q com message is a play on words. No, Celadon has not bought USA Truck. What Celadon did was buy close to 4.5 million dollars worth of USA Truck stock, and asked for meetings about a merger. USA Truck is very vulnerable right now. The company is in debt up to it's eyeballs and their revenue stream is way down. A company with deep pockets and a determined attitude could mount a takeover. I think the next 12 months will tell.

It sounds like maybe a play for a hostile takeover in the near future. It shouldn't take to long to forgo the process.

I hope maybe this has sent a message to the company board and management, business as usual is not acceptable any longer.

So your a former employee that was fired for being incompetent and now your an expert regarding the financial position os USA? As well as expert on mergers and acquisitions and interpretation of QC messages for a company that sent you packing. Funny! You keep speaking as an expert about a place that told you to hit the bricks? :biggrin_2552:

I left on my own to take of my kids as I am a single Dad. My fleet manager was good to me, my trainers did right by me and I did right by USA. Was the experience without difficulties? Nope, but what is?

My thing with your posts is that you consistently complained in this forum about USA, then was fired for whatever act of negligence and now you try to come off to folks like your some expert regarding the interworkings of the place.

I'm no expert, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, so maybe that qualifies? :biggrin_25511:

As I said before, if my posts bother you please feel free to ignore them. As to the financial information it is on the internet free to all that takes the time to research it, have you? It does not take an expert to see USA Truck is in serious debt and this does make them a serious take over threat, as Celedon seems to have pointed out. As to my termination as you can see I was honest in these boards about it. As to the real reason, you can slam me all you want but you don't know the full truth and you never will. So please ignore my posts in the future.

By the way let me add something else. My Fleet Manager at USA Truck was good to me. I also still exchange emails with him as well as several other people in both safety and operations. I do have some inner contacts in the inside of that company. As a driver I made ALL my appointments till late in July when I started to have serious issues with my tractor's. The day my Fleet manager told me of the decision to terminate me he said he regretted losing me, but there was nothing he could do. I know 20 drivers still there that I stay in contact with almost everyday, they all tell me what is going on. Most of these drivers year will be up starting in Oct 2011 to Jan 2012 all plan to quit. It really pains me to see the problems there. It is not me being vindictive with my negative posts about USA Truck, it is me expressing my sadness at how a great company is being driven into the ground and how it is effecting people I care about. So if this bothers you all I can suggest is to stop reading my posts.

What would be bad about Celadon taking over? It would expand shipping lanes and offer a dispatch system that doesn't result in so many deadheads to loads that turn out to have been cancelled the previous day. Celadon pays detention. I'm not knocking USA, just asking what's wrong with Celadon?

I love the safety messages that come out. I got one yesterday to the effect of "Look both ways before turning and crossing intersections.". I'm seriously starting to expect "Use a circular motion when brushing your teeth and always wipe front to back.".

In the short term I don't know. Long term it depends on the details of any possible future merger/takeover. Right off if Celadon took control and shut down most of the Van Buren operations it might cost hundreds of jobs there. This is what I hope does not happen. Contrary to what some people in these boards think about me, I DO WANT USA Truck to make it as is. Because I have come to know several (non-drivers) that work there and these people are good honest hard working folks. I only know of one thing a merger/takeover might cause with the drivers. I spoke with a celadon driver at the Greenville Tn TA the other night, he told me Celadon moves a good bit of freight into Canada. I am not sure if the majority of current USA Truck drivers have passports etc etc to go there.
