Another thing. I don't know why you guys like the regional deal or how you even survive. I found out on Thursday that I had been regional most of October. I was originally in Fleet 6. Well that FM quit at the beginning of October and I was put in Fleet 18. My miles per week went from 22-2600 to about 13-1800. After asking my FM he told me he was giving me the best runs he had. Then I asked him why I was only driving Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. He said" I have to keeP you in my region.". I told him I was contracted to be OTR not regional so I was immediately transferred to Fleet 51. I'm now back to 400-500 miles per day and I always have a preplan. The only thing good about regional was that I did truly go home almost every weekend. But honestly I'd rather be tired in the truck than hungry at home with no miles.

i like it because i see my son 8 days a month instead of 4. Miles are picking up for me.I have gotten 2000 or better 5 out of the last 6 weeks. Not every out here has to make 1000 net each week to survive.Every ones situations are different. My lady makes good money so we can make it through when things get slow out here which they have been since the middle of July. My son graduates in three years so i looked at regional as a blessing for me to get more time with him and enjoy the last three years of being at home.As i am finding out with my 20 year old they dont come back around much after high school unless they need money lol

I have been running Good miles the past month. They worked with me to make sure I was home for Halloween. I am in Texas now delivering in the morning. This was a 1500 mile run from Pa. had a lousy week, so this made up for it. Giving me 2800 for the week.

Whatever happened to that Georgia Peach guy that just started two months ago? He had posted about being with a trainer, then upgrade, then silence.

I was out with my trainer for 2.5 weeks and had to return home due to a family emergency. I spent a month waiting for a new trainer (and praying that I didn't get the same one that I had). When a trainer was finally available, I had the flu and was not able to go. All together, I have been home almost 2 months. Never made it to upgrade.

There were some other issues regarding pay not received that happened in the middle of all of this. I have since decided to cut my losses with USA Truck and found another company to go with. I just got tired of sitting at home for free sitting by the phone waiting for USA to call me.

And, BTW, I'm not a dude. Lol.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it's working out better. Also, sorry for the gender mistake.

No problem. Yes, it's working out a lot better now. I feel a lot more confident driving and the trainer I had at the new company was phenomenal.

It took me a few minutes to find this post because I just got finished speaking with another USA Truck driver that is having the same problem with his APU. He said his was took apart in Van Buren sometime ago and he can't keep it running now. He told me this APU has been in the shop off and on now for almost 2 months. I laughed and told him not to get upset and call anybody in Van Buren, he might get fired.

    Really??

So your telling us that if you have a maitenance issue and you call Van Buren you will be fired? I'd say not.

What I would say is that if you called Van Buren and started spewing off in an insurbordinate tone, coupled with a litany of complaints and a recent preventable accident, you may be shown the door.

Are the routes at WS such that there is so much opportunity to talk with USA drivers, sharing their woes and counseling them on the "evils of the empire"?
