I have never delivered to NYC, but I have been through it many times going to CT and MA. I ran through there every time around 2am. Once they routed me from MA to Philly, I would've been going through the big apple around 3 pm. I said I'll take to Milford CT and park it, then run through at night. They had no problem with that.
As far as insurance it's not terribly expensive but like anything, it could be better. It's good insurance though, it's Independence which is a division of blue cross. 401k is 6% I believe

I can't speak as to what goes on in FL, it's a different world down there. I know they pay less than up here. Things may have changed since Dillon logistics closed it's doors, but I'm not sure. I don't want to give you any wrong info

For the short time I worked there, the pay didn't really increase more than few cpm. 14+ hour days were common. Maybe make 240 a day on asphalt.
Great company, but I'm not working those kind of hours for that kind of money. Especially in Florida with how expensive it's gotten here.
The yard is terrible. Just a dirt lot with 2 mechanics. Mind you this was last year in October, but I doubt much has changed in 6 months.pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
I saw a Venezia truck in Jax today pulling a dump, I think they're opening a terminal up there and that's the first time I've ever seen a dump behind one of their trucks. @Dave1837 is that something they might get in to more heavily? Seems to make sense in Florida to service not only the cement, but the rock and sand as well, basically a full service operation. This would be something that would peak my interest, as I've been pulling dumps for years, I've always heard good things about Venezia down here, never really been interested in working pneumatics though.

What’s the hourly rates for dumps like down there ?
up here it’s like $28 an hour for a company driver and $115 for a hired truckpathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
Basically all percentage down this way, you’re making a living, but not a killin’

They're expanding down there, that's all I know. Heard they opened 3 more terminals in FL. Every time I'm at their main hub in Limerick PA they have trailers with new tractors on ready to go down. I have no clue what the pay is like for FL drivers, all I know is it's less than up here. Your best bet would be to check out their website and see if the dump trailer job is posted on there to see what it payspathfinder1361, Cat sdp and Trashtrucker1707 Thank this.

It's really no more than 250 a day running asphalt. Some times you can make more if you're willing to run out an 80 hour clock.
-
Yea but what’re you going to make on a week pulling 80?
-
Maybe 1500 a week
