My father owned a Funeral Home when I was growing up. My post was simply an old Morticians joke. I'm sure they still tell that one to this day. BTW........Most wives don't want to die before their husbands do........they would rather just shoot the old SOB!![]()

You’ll have to have the will power to make yourself go.
Whatever time I have my alarm set for, when it goes off, will power makes you get up, get dressed and fix bed if in truck, at home go bathroom wash face fix bed then dressed, you alone have to have the will to get out of bed.

I used to ask a working girl at the truck stop before I went to bed to gently tap on my door at my wake-up time the next morning but you don't see many these days...I heard Loves is starting a wake-up service soon. You call the fuel desk and have them call you at your desired time. Just like a hotel.

BTW. Currently my alarm is a self-made rant about taking my medicine. I take a pill that I'm supposed to take on an empty stomach and wait half and hour to an hour before I eat or drink anything besides water. So, only practical time to take it is when I first wake up. After repeatedly forgetting to take it when I awoke, I made a rant to myself about taking my medicine and that is what I wake up to. Guess what, I don't forget my medicine these days!!!

If you put you alarm where you can't reach it, you will have to get up to shut it off. That is half of the battle right there.

I had this problem most of my life. Always sleeping through alarms, even screaming meanies. That can cause hearing damage. Tinninitis, ringing in the ears. Best thing I’ve done is get more sleep. I use to try to get more done, by sleeping less. Now it catches up with me. I still have trouble getting up early, unless I’ve had a lot of sleep. I typically run till 2-4 am, sleep till I wake up naturally. Usually 10am-noon. No alarm, makes for a much better day. The key is more sleep. I find I’m more tired than I realize. I try to look at sleep as a good thing, instead of an inconvenience or wasted/lost time.
