I once parked (not by choice as I ran out of hours at nearby shipper) at the Wal-Mart on Brook Park Road in Parma. I parked in the back and nobody bothered me (I spent money in the store and did not leave a mess). I have been told that some Wal-Marts in rural areas of Ohio such as Van Wert are fine with trucks parking there.
The Wal-Mart in Little Rock at exit 130 was a pain to get into and out of. I always saw trucks parked there so I figured it couldn't be that bad.
In some areas, you need not park at Wal-Mart. For example, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the Wal-Mart is next to one of the truck stops. In Effingham, Illinois, the Wal-Mart is about a 10 minute walk from some of the truck stops. That location also has designated truck parking spaces. -
pattyJ NO NO> I said that Lexington is great!! They even have marked lanes for trucks! Sorry if I confused you.

The Walmart manager, whomever happens to be on duty when you contact them about permission may or may not be aware of local ordinances which prohibit overnight parking of any kind at various types of businesses. In Irvine, California it is illegal to sleep in any motor vehicle anywhere in the town from 10PM until 6AM. And that includes all private property, industrial areas, on street parking, literally everywhere. And it is enforced routinely. The original intent was to keep people from "camping out" in their RV's for months on end (rubber tramps) but the law was written much broader than that and the local Barney Fife types are happy to write tickets.

I'm embarrassed to drive I-24 past the WalMart n.w. of Chattanooga.
Signs all over the place "No Trucks" yet it has as many truckers sleeping there 24 hrs as a truck stop.
I'm afraid they'll eventually put one of those "low beams" across the entrances, then even those of us who go to Walmart just to shop, won't be able anymore.
STexan Thanks this.
