I’ll be running out of Tobyhanna, PA. Spoke to the fleet manager and only program they have available is the 6/3(was hoping for 5/2-5/3 so I could possibly extend for higher TDP). I love the company I drive for, but don’t want to end up crippled by the time I’m in my 50s lol.
Walmart here I come 2.0

If you can explain what you mean about “chasing the money”, I’d love to hear it! Someone else said the same thing(possibly you??) on the forum...I’ve always busted my ### working, so I’d love any pointers!truckdriver31 Thanks this.

You're going to get paid both mileage and activity. "Chasing the money" means doing stupid.....driving too fast, cutting corners to do more miles-more activities, getting impatient. Do the the job safely and like a pro....no cutting corners/skipping steps. You really have to try hard to lose your job here, but stuff like that will get it done. Follow your steps, be patient and you'll naturally get more efficient. And like I said..the dollars will follow. Surprised you got into a program already, usually new guys start on the extra board....I was on it almost a year (and it's only been 16 months for me as it is). Don't know what the 6/3 programs works out to dollar wise. Good luck and welcome to the top of the totem pole.truckdriver31, dwells40 and mxpx148 Thank this.

thats not true. your not going to make 100k a year at every dc's

That programs not mine yet lol...that’s what they had available when I spoke to them 2 weeks ago, and it will still be a few weeks until I even get to that point, so we will seetruckdriver31 Thanks this.

From what I’ve read on here also, it seems like each store only has 2 drops/day(4&6pm or something along those lines). What do you do as a driver for Walmart otherwise? A lot of DC to DC? From an outside perspective, I always figured stores got more trailers than that.
truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
Sometimes....especially this time of year & in our region at least...stores will get 3 drops- 2,4, & 6. As far as backhauls, it'll be empty back to the D.C., to a vendor then to the D.C., vendor to the regional D.C. or crossdock.. Sometimes pallets at the store to the pallet facility. Or any combination of any/all of the above. All depends on what's at the store and what loads are there which matchtruckdriver31 and mxpx148 Thank this.

So they do keep you busy if you want to be?truckdriver31 Thanks this.
-
LOL....they're gonna keep you hopping whether you want to or not. I should say the great majority if the time. Since I've been there there's only been 2-3 times I can remember that I've had to wait more than an hour or so. As long as you have the hours and it's safe to do so.truckdriver31 and mxpx148 Thank this.

You are exactly right. They will keep you busy.truckdriver31 and mxpx148 Thank this.
