Suns drying thing up we are getting some loads out work in progress but slow

 

No call yet, I'm just patiently waiting.....

 

Well, I got the call today. Renee from Marcy, NY but she told me it's for Johnstown, NY DC. I need to call back to schedule a road test. I'll tell you what, its probably one of that hardest decisions that I've had to make in my life up until now. Walmart or Quality Carriers W/ Teamsters union. There's pro's and con's for both but boy this is such a hard decision.....Teamsters basically going in the hole and benefits run out and working for a pension that could not be there. Or Walmart possibly self destruction of private fleet slowly going into a contract only type deal. I hope I make the right choice. Maybe both meet their demise at some point. uhg....

She just called me again. figured I would call here tomorrow since I was sure they were out of the office. Looks like I'll be doing road test, and everything in Marcy, NY. Guess its like 1.5 hours west of Johnston. was the earliest she could get me in.....

 

So....Just got the call today with my official offer. Orientation in a couple weeks. We'll see if everything's what it's cracked up to be. But if I can deduce anything from hearing how pleased the lady sounded when she called, I'm thinking this was in fact a good move. And if nothing else it'll mean no more lugging hoses and unloading in the freezing weather that comes with tanker-yanking. Glad to be part of the crew.

Worst comes to worst, with a good driving record and living near a populated area you'll have another job the next week.

Unions ran their course back in the day. They are useless now. P.S. Stop telling your times and dates for what you have going on. That's for you not everyone else.

 

Just got the word. Grabbing a load in Indiana tomorrow (starting my work week) and heading to either Louisiana or Texas to help with the hurricane relief efforts.
