I arrived at 12 midnight ready to deliver only to find that the Walmart retail drop of 7 pallets was actually a DC drop scheduled for 10am the next day. I managed to get the appointment advanced to 8am, but Walmart has kept me well past 2 hours waiting to drop just 7 measely pallets of a single dry consumer product. I know that a lot of OOs like Walmart work, but I say Walmart steals time and labor from the poor to bring their Chinese made junk to the American consumer.![]()

Yes, because they're the only customer that makes you wait for the appointment.

-
What are the "poor" doing in trucking?
-
There's plenty of receivers that "make" you wait until your appointment time. That's why they make an "appointment."
JimTheHut, Working Class Patriot and Texas-Nana Thank this. -
Exactly. That was my point. And the appointment time is always on the paper work from Wal-Mart. The only trucks not required to have an appointment are dedicated runs. Even though we run dedicated to Wal-Mart, if we take a W-M OTR run up to the DC in WY or even to Los Lunas NM we have to wait for the appointment time.
I hear a lot of OTR drivers tell each other that you can be early but I've never seen it happen at a DC. Some DCs may let you in a couple of hours early and dock the truck even, but you won't be unloaded early without a miracle.
Think of how many trucks a day that DC is getting. It's no different than most DCs of big companies. -
i always found that if i read my bills--and maybe a phone call--makes for less headaches than relying on somebody elses instructions

like a LYING dispatcher or broker, perhaps?Working Class Patriot and orion3814 Thank this.

They're all lying b*****ds aren't they?JimTheHut Thanks this.

yes when you get both dispatch and the broker lying--with different lies-its usually best to check over their work
orion3814 Thanks this. -
You know who steals from the poor are those Dollar type stores. Here's one example, can you think of some more?:
8 - 13 gallon trash bags for $1.
40 - 13 gallon trash bags from Target $3.56panhandlepat Thanks this.
