The only negative things I’ve heard are from Walmart drivers who were cashing in a few years back when Walmart started giving the more lucrative routes to the new drivers!

Anyone besides me ever looked at the 'Walmart' option and said, "um, no. Not for me."
And honestly, you'd think after 30 years, that might have been your reaction.
Most drivers know that Walmart, while quite well paying, is micromanaged to the point of telling you when you can pee.

    Not for me. No surprise.

Yeah, I'm not really Walmart material either. Uniforms, hovering over you all the time......I think I'll pass on that.

Sure, we’ve probably all accidentally run a red light at one time or other, but that doesn’t make it any less serious. You ran the red light no matter what your excuse is. Use those excuses with the jury after you “accidentally” run a red light and take out a family in a minivan and see what happens.

Walmart is well known for micromanaging and requiring things to be done their way. However, I’ve never heard anyone say they didn’t tell you upfront what the expectations are. At that point, it’s a personal decision on whether the money is worth it. If you decide to work there, you play by their rules. That’s not for everyone, and that’s ok. I don’t think it makes them a bad company for doing and enforcing exactly what they say they will.

I’ve got a dozen friends the drive for Walmart at Palestine and Sanger Tx. They all tell me the same thing, act like a robot at work and go home after 5 days and stuff more money in your fat wallet. It’s not for everyone but the one’s that play the game live very well.

    Well, there ya go.
Know the rules, play the rules, and rock on.
Like I said, most people know the rules.
Nuttin wrong with rules, so long as you know what they are.
And Walmart doesn't hide their rules.

I've had family that drove for them through the years (none in the last decade or so), none of them really cared for the culture. They stuck it out for the money. I just never thought I'd be able to handle the nanny-ing....says the guy that worked for USX for 6 years lol

The ELD thing sounds pretty petty. As long as you're not shaving on-duty time by changing to off-duty, who GAF?

Who GAF? Probably some underpaid bean counter with no training, no real authority, no future, and a lousy attitude because of it who sits there in his/her cubical watching for meaningless violations and cackling maniacally every time they bust a driver. They have their guidelines and they neither know nor care how much their actions can affect a driver's future.
