That's what I was getting at. That's just the way it is today. That's why I mentioned Swift school; no obligation to stay after graduation. Go to any good CDL school though. Probably go right to Leavitt's Freight Service right in Springfield, OR making some good money after graduation.
Don't buy in to the old "find an owner-operator to train you" story. Those days are over except for an extremely few people that have a family member willing to risk everything to train someone that only has a permit and is uninsurable. Lawsuits run into the 10's of millions of dollars these days so it just not worth the risk.
