So I have my 2022 Utility dry van in the shop for some for a few issues.
1. Lights inside trailer stopped working. ( Needs new controller for fix I believe Warranty item)
2. Top Row of lights are popping a fuze on truck. ( Needed new wire harness I believe Warranty)
3.Bottom LED lights only have 1-3 lights working on a lot of lights. Each LED Housing has 4 LED lights inside with I believe 8 or 9 sets top and bottom. ( Replace lights should be warranty)
4. 3-5 Top rails inside trailer comes loose from the glue so need them to be glued down. ( Glue down and let set over weekend says may not be able to collect warranty)
Says that I have to pay for all work and then once warranty pays them I will get paid back whatever they pay them. I have never had to deal with a trailer warranty before so wondering if this is standard practice thesis days?

Wow that’s nuts. My brand new dry van was in for warranty for a broken handle and I paid nothing up front they just said warranty would cover it. Only downside was it took 2 months. This was wabash.
bzinger, Dave_in_AZ and Siinman Thank this. -
Hmm..,
Call Transport Parts in Memphis, TN, talk to Mr. Kenneth. They do warranty work on all kinds of trailers, vans, flats, hoppers.
Hes a good dude and honest on pricing. -
Did you take it to a utility dealer or is this just a random shop? If it’s the dealer then no, doesn’t sound right at all.

Doesn’t sound right, at all. Warranty means no upfront costs; only backend costs on what is NOT covered. Warranty claims take a bit of time, unfortunately. Sounds like they’re trying to circumvent that process and just immediately get paid, at your expense. Screw them!
Call the Craftsmen-St Charles shop for a 2nd opinion.bzinger, Dave_in_AZ, Feedman and 2 others Thank this. -
My guess is they are trying to get all the money for the time they would have invested into the repairs instead of only getting paid what corporate decides they should be paid for the repairs. I’d definitely be going someplace else.

Dang, no experience with utility but Reitnouer flatbed, any lights issues has been covered 100% no questions asked... pull into dealer say problem and the issue is fixed immediately...
