Don't worry driver, I had a driver gesture to me that I was #1 once because I didn't change lanes for him so he could merge. Guess he wanted me to take out the line of 4 wheelers in the hammer lane just so he could get on the freeway. Just cause they get mad at you dosent always mean they're right

A lot of good responses on here. It is circumstantial though. I have been the leapfrogger, and the leapfroggee. It doesnt bother me. Another driver once just stayed side by side by me like a horse race (nobody behind us). We just inched nose by nose back and forth. Probably not the safest thing to do, but I won't intentionally slow down and end up crawling up a steep grade just to be nice to someone. Last time I did that, I ended up so slow that I stalled and had to chain up.

You did exactly the right thing. I can't adjust my speed to accomodate every other truck out there. I have played this game many times and most often the other driver and I just laugh about it. It would be nonsense to slow down so a heavier truck could pass you, then you are trapped behind them. You just happened to meet a driver with an attitude or who was havin' a bad day.

...it just looks idiotic with you hanging your arm out the window with that leather whip, trying to coax another half-mile-per-hour out of Nellie!:biggrin_25523:

Really I was gonna ask why when ..oh say..a Truck is governed at 64mph..And decides to pass one governed at 63.999mph on level ground-why cant the 63.999mph guy/gal let off the gas and let him/her pass??

But I'm not going too cause this thread is entertaining enough..:biggrin_255:

True enough. I find that in particular Swifties seem to have "fast" 62 MPH trucks, and ours are "middling" 62ers. Had to back out for a Swiftie today on the IN turnpike or we have had traffic backed up to Gary!
