i drove for an outfit once upon a time , 4 brothers and dad, one of the brothers used to get his panties in a big ole wad if i passed him, I could run circles around this guy on any given day of the week and had no intention of pokin along behind him so i could be home 2 hours later than nessecary..... i didn't stay there long.... go tired of listening to his whining about me passing him.... his younger brother was truck boss more or less , should have given the older brother a faster truck. cause that ole girl i had was a hot rod in the hands of a real driver......... lol

It's kinda irritating when it happens. I just don't like the leap frogging actions. If I'm the heavier truck and I know it's a section of country where I'm going to be slowing down trying to pull hills, I'll just stay behind the lighter truck until he stretches out....if he can....or once the terrain levels out, then I'll get on around him and not worry about it anymore. But I do find it irritating, especially if there's a lot of traffic. I just think it can be unsafe with how so many drivers think it's okay to just jump right out in front of faster traffic like they're not there.

The decision that annoys me most is when I see a truck coming on the highway in the distance. Just far enough I know he will be up to almost speed when I reach him. There is traffic coming. Now do I slow down because its a good chance he is faster? Or move over and try and pass, hoping he is governed a tad slower, or better yet a driver that recognizes the situation, lets me go by, then passes me back at his convenience. Lately I've been getting screwed, and having heavy traffic, (holiday I guess), so I slow, and end up getting stuck behind one going 2 mph slower than me.

that was more or less , humor, but on the other hand most states have a law called slower traffic keep right and pull off if you have more than i think its 5 cars piled up behind you.... So yes i reckon if the shoe fits wear it. I don't remember any part of the white knight image requiring you to follow a slowpoke all day... For the most part i don't really worry about it. I just diddly bob down the blvd and if someone is slower i go around or just kick back and follow them at a safe distance....

But now that i think about it more , thats got nothing to do with the white knights philosophy, thats JIMROY POLICY, period amen... NO reason for it , its just my policy.... i give ya one of three choices , so pick one, and git er done.....

Really it's hard to say who's right or wrong. However, what's the problem of slowing just a little and relaxing? You might lose a minute or so for the day but gain days in overall health.

...I actually used a tire thumper. Leather whip stays at home... Under the bed... Where it collects dust
