Oh no, I didn't start this thread. It was the OP that got the "one finger salute", not me. I've been flippped off a few times, but I can assure you that I was at fault and it was with good reasons.

No one is king of the road, your were within you rights, & he just showed his attitude. Now if he owns the highway them it’s a different story, but it belongs to all of us.


Years ago I was going up a long hill, & there was several slower trucks that I had already passed. I was fast coming up on another one, as I pulled out I saw another slower truck up ahead of him. In such situation I always they a look & try to estimate if I will block the truck in or not. And in this situation I did, but I did, but just barely, if I had of had one, or maybe two more MPH, it would not have happened, I mean it was a close one. I sure did not do it on purpose. If I thought I was going to block him in I would have slowed down staying behind him, but I thought I would make it, but I underestimated it that time.


I guess that made him mad. When I got to the top of the hill, this was in the 70’s & the spped limit was 55 MPH. My birddog goes off. A long down hill was ahead of me, & I could see a long ways, but I could not see no policeman, yet still, coming off that hill I stayed at 55 MPH just to play it safe.


A little ways down the hill the truck that I just barely blocked in came barreling by me, & as he passed my drivers door he held up his fist shaking it at me. I tired to be nice, picked up my CB mike & tried to tell him, there’s a trooper out there some where, but there was no reply. He kept right on barreling on, probably hitting speeds of 80 MPH or even more. I took it he was just showing me he had a fast truck & I was never suppose to pass him.


I could see him way up ahead of me, just barely, & I saw something cross the median, but I could not tell what it was. In a few moments I saw flashing lights, & I saw the other truck pulling over way up ahead of me. When I got up to where they were he & the trooper were standing behind his truck, the trooper looked busy writing out a ticket. The driver held up his arm, shaking his fist at me once again.


I suppose he blamed that ticket on me, but that ticket came because of his temper. Still I hated to see him get a ticket, but I tried to help him on that matter, that was all I could do. I hated it that he got a ticket, I feel sure as fast as he was going it was a high dollar ticket.


I don’t know if he had his CB on our not, maybe he did & just thought I was taunting him by saying there’s a trooper ahead of us, I was just trying to be nice.

 

i had a 4 wheeler give me the finger. when i merged in front of him becuase there was a car in the brokedown lane with there flashers running.

i also had a pickup zip out in front of me when he was merging on the onramp. then slam on his brakes right in front of me. then sped down the highway. i coulnd't merge over becuase a semi was partially blocking the left lane at that exact spot. broke down.

 

My truck says every morning, I will kill you if I get the chance. My job is to make sure the load gets there safely, on time, & with pride. The rest is just fun.
