Back in the old days I always carried a can of coffee with me all the time, its amazing how clean coffee will make a trailer smell. I was never turned away because of my trailer, & I did not get washed out every time either, only when I thought it was necessary.

This thread makes me wonder..... anyone ever need wash out service in/near Mt Pleasant, TX?

I normally go to that washout over by the Loves when I'm heading the the Pilgrims plants in Mt Pleasant and Pittsburg, Tx. The last time I went over there. It was closed early because it was raining. Why do you ask?

Just wondering.... Have a Son In Law in Gilmer, just south of Pittsburg that needs a job. He is too young to drive for me and not much work around there. But was thinking if there was a need with PP being near by that I might look into putting together something for him to operate a wash out service. Rent an empty lot and buy a power washer might be all he needs. Simple cell phone that would be answered 24/7 and a legal place to do the deed.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
There's a guy on the west side of 271 just before you reach Pittsburg from the north. Basically a dirt lot big enough to turn around in and a shed to back up to. His sign says he'll come out 24x7, but I've only been there once during regular bus hours, $30. Kind of a pita coming down from Mt. Pleasant but closer than the Loves. I'm guessing he located there since that would be close to the freezer where trailers would get rejected, versus a driver actually thinking ahead and getting the washout right there in Mt. Pleasant where they ship the fresh bird.
Best thing I found for de-stinking my trailer is straight Fabuloso in a spray bottle. It's an all purpose cleaner that I guess Walmart markets to Latinos. My wife has always used it in the house, and its about half the price of the regular brands (409, Mr Clean, etc). They have a baking soda formula that smells like cherries. A few shots under the evaporator inside where water tends to mildew a little, then spray a few shots down the sides and along the rear. Pleasant smelling and not strong enough for a bread or dairy shipper to say a thing about. You have to wash out no matter what, but definitely knocks out the meat smell from a fresh chicken load if your washout was with plain water.Panhandle flash, Lilbit and TAK12LLC Thank this. -
Old tanker yanker trick--learned years ago--Vanillla extract--if things really stink--wash out the mess--shake some on frame rails and walls--then wash again--works better n coffee grounds--and isnt as messy--LOL
And as for the portable guys down there Lil--know all bout em--some ok some--well--LOL--there is one--who stays down around military than not only washes out--BUT--does car/truck washes--good job too--next time down--Ill get his info and post--and as for the J--since they tore the dump down at the bottom of 281--all the riff-raff has migrated to the Hook--starting to resemble west memphis more and more-and w/the redo of the TA--and how well mgmt and all employess treat us up there--well nuff said--not to mention awesome burrito bar! -
Most of our plants (Tyson have wash out bays or a hose you can use) do not wash ur trailer out in a parking lot EPA will come down on you with fines.. plus it stinks

, I don't do the fuel game, now that I'm on e-log, Not going to stop every two hours to get fuel, or have to worry about if I put to much on, Know If I was still a O/O, And it meant more money for me? that would be different, I get paid by the mile, whether loaded or empty, weight not a factor for me
