The box truck and WS truck both made good clean passes..........exceeding your speed by .....15 mph at a minumum. Is that speed differential reasonable? Hard to tell in the video.

For the life of me.......I don't "get" why people think it's fine to obstruct traffic. Going too slow is just as dangerous as going too fast.

Also hard to REALLY tell in the video..........but the road looks pretty dang good.

Maybe you should park if you think conditions are to the point you can't keep up with traffic as you become the road hazard. Ever feel like you're in over your head?

Icy roads, curve ahead, and a double yellow line and you dont see a problem? The unsafe steering wheel holder in the watkins truck could have made the pass where its legal and safe to do it. I see these idiots all the time in wyoming tail gating on solid ice and then once in a while I see them in the ditch. Its amazing who these companies are hiring these days. And what happens when drivers jackknife on the ice blocking the road? Then we sit waiting, crying on the cb about how nobody knows how to drive.

Heck, I have full lockers on my truck and I lock them on the fly all the time. Especially when pulling a belly dump this happens multiple times per day. I lock them all in before dumping.

Heck our shop finds crap in truck differentials that don't even have an interaxle lock. It is part of the process of metal on metal.[/QUOTE]

That's good to know it is normal. And I will go back to shifting interaxle lock on the fly despite what the TA mechanic said not to do.

The box truck made a legal pass, agreed. Watkins Shepard illegally crossed double yellow zone to pass which is not a clean legal pass, there is no excuse for it.
I wasn't intentionally trying to impede traffic. If you had read the whole thread i already explained I was interaxle lock engaged at 45 miles per hour max since 0100. Here comes a guy who just started his day and just got off his trainer's truck last week after 3 whole days of training to make an illegal billy big riggin pass.

And the road was good at that time, agreed. Like I said, I was in second-guess mode because a mechanic told me to never (dis)engage interaxle lock while truck was moving so I was looking for a place to pull over to do that because the roads were indeed good as the sun was coming up.

Ever feel the need to read a whole thread before posting? I already explained everything, I cannot help you until you know all the facts above. But to answer your question, no I don't feel overwhelmed, in fact I have supreme confidence in my trucking skills. I know things most old timers out here don't even know.

Remember Watkins Shepard only trains fresh student CDL drivers less than 10 days and turns them loose on the puble roads.

Well with 10 days on the job he did a fine job in my book for passing a driver who should be parked at the truck stop instead of impeding traffic, because the roads are "slick" although the pictures show a different story

I'm sorry but im going to play devils advocate here. Not to knock your driving habits but with as many videos you seem to like to post of people that cant seem to wait to get around you and away from you. It makes me wonder what throws them into that mode or maybe what was going on before said video.

Ill admit I have passed drivers in questionable conditions to get away from that driver as he could not maintain the lane, would not keep a constant speed doing 35 in a 65 with no objects or hinderances in his way and so on.

That driver ended up being a hazard to me and I need to get away from him one way or another. So when I see the same videos over and over it makes me wonder what was going on to make that driver deiced it was time to get away from you and take a decent chance doing so.
